The Arthouse 'La Scatola', an original country house originally restored and decorated is located in the magnificent 'Marchigiano' countryside between sunflowers and peaceful rolling hills. The private apartment is on 2 levels, has a private entrance and a dining and relaxing area in the garden (3000sqm). Each of the 3 bedrooms has a beautiful view over the enchanted hills and fields. The house has 2 bathrooms, 1 kitchen fully decked out and the lounge with its cosy atmosphere. Each room has its own theme. The property is situated on top of a small hill by itself, only 35 min. From the Conero Riviera, a natural reserve famous for its beaches and pristine waters. It is also few kms away from local restaurants, few min. From the medieval town 'Filottrano' with its weekly traditional market and few kms from the historical cities of Macerata (with its summer opera festival), Jesi, Treia, Osimo. It is just few min. Away from a beautiful Aqua Park.

Sunday is the changeover day but we try to be flexible where possible.

In the living room you will find a double sofa bed, dining table, TV, DVD player, english books and magazines for you to enjoy during your staying at the house and a bathroom. |

The main staircase will lead you to the second floor, the sleeping area, where you will find a bathroom and 3 bedrooms with their own theme. |

Towels and linen are included, except for the beach towels. They are changed only every new arrival. |
Notes on accommodation
Children are welcomed, but unfortunately no pets are allowed since we already have our 2 funny cats wandering around. There are 2 mountain bikes that you can use if you want to go for a wonder through the country streets.

Accessibility
Unfortunately our accommodation is not suitable for guests with severe mobility problems needing use of wheelchairs.
Outside
Come and enjoy a taste of authentic Italian 'Marchigiano' countryside, with its rural traditions, old abandoned barns, scattered around the hills amidst sunflowers fields near the house. You can sit in the large garden, have a barbecue or eat under the shade of a large umbrella in the outside dining-relaxing area. You can go walking through the fields or simply enjoy your staying in the middle of nature reading a book or sunbathing or go wine tasting in the local wineries.
Coast/Beach
The Conero Riviera, famous for its beautiful beaches and pristine waters are only 35 min ca away by car.you can dine out at waters edge or have an aperitivo by the sea at the 'sushi bar' or in the picturesque square of Sirolo, an old beautiful village right on a cliff on the Conero mountain with its stunning view looking over the Adriatic sea.
Special interest holidays
On request you can enjoy a dinner cooked by your hosts and served with local wines,or one day course of cookery at the house the day that you prefer. Being an art house, some items like paintings or other objects can be purchased.
Travel
The Ancona airport is only 30 min (Ryanair and other airlines flies daily). Away by car. A car hire is essential and you can find many cars rentals at the airport.
Distances
The cities of Filottrano and Appignano are only 5 km away and every Thursday and Friday you can visit their traditional food markets where you can find local vegetables and fruits, meat and fresh fish (very cheap prices). The house is situated in a strategic position: just 20 min. away by car from the cities of Macerata (where in July/August the worldwide famous Opera Festival at the Feristerio, a beautiful open air theater from the 17th century, takes place), Osimo, Jesi and Cingoli.

You can find banks, local shops, post offices, supermakets in the small cities of Filottrano and Appignano just few minutes away by car from the house.
You are also 5 minutes away by car from the Water-park "Verde-Azzurro", situated in the middle of the fields.
Booking notes
Bookings may be made by e-mail and payment will be made in cash at the arrival. A deposit of 200 euros will be required at that time and it will be refunded if no breakages occur at the end of the stay.
