Casa Isabella has been renovated using the honey-coloured stone and cotto flooring traditional to the area, but with a stylish and contemporary interior. The house is situated in rolling hills with views of open farmland and medieval hilltop towns. It nestles in 7 acres of our land, with a vineyard and olive trees dotting the hillside. Our private pool (10x5m) is easily accessed through the French doors from the dining and living rooms, and across the terracotta terrace. Inside, all the rooms have wooden beams and cotto floors. There is a large open-plan living room with a wood-burning stove and light flooding in through the triple aspect windows. The modern kitchen/dining room has all necessary facilities and the dining table seats 10 comfortably. Upstairs there is a master-bedroom with en-suite bathroom and three more double-bedrooms, 2 with doors onto the balcony.

Changeover day
Fairly flexible. We ask you to arrive no earlier than 4pm and depart by 10am.

Notes on accommodation
No smokers. No pets. Bear in mind that the pool is close to the French doors. This means that if you have young children it is easy to keep an eye on them from the house, but also easy for them to get to the pool if the doors are left open.
Outside
There is a patio area at the back of the house, with sun loungers, and a large umbrella. There is also a separate seating area with table and eight chairs and umbrella. The pool is 10m x 5m and for the sole use of the house and guests. Pool open end of May - mid September. Night lighting to pool.
Coast/Beach
35 min drive to the charming seaside resort of Porto San Giorgio with its sandy Blue Flag beach. 1 hour's drive to Grottammare, another attractive seaside town with the esplanade flanked by tall palm trees and Art Nouveau Liberty villas.
Golf
Golf at Conero about an hour's drive.
Skiing
Skiing in the Sibillini National Park, a 45 min drive.
Travel
Ancona airport 1.5 hours. Pescara airport 2 hours. Car essential.
Distances
Casa Isabella is a 5 min drive, or a good 20 min walk from Montegiorgio. The delightful university town of Macerata, with its renowned summer opera festival is a 30 min drive. The beautiful medieval town of Fermo is 30 mins away. Visit its 1st century underground complex of filter beds, the Piscina Epuratoria Romana. Roman amphitheatres at Falerone and Urbisaglia, 20 mins drive. The regional capital, Ascoli Piceno, about 1.5 hours, the central Piazza paved with travertine marble.
Further details
Montegiorgio is a bustling town with supermarkets with delicious local produce, butchers, a fish shop, a busy market on Friday mornings, a bread shop, patisserie, a rosticceria for tasty home-cooked dishes and pasta cut to your preferred size! The town has bars, a pizzeria, spaghetteria and there are many wonderful restaurants close by. There are plenty of opportunities to sample the delicious local Verdicchio and Rosso Conero wines. Montegiorgio has a bank/cashpoint machine, chemist and a hospital.
Other local facilities include horse riding, walking, quad biking, hang gliding, water sports and cycling about a 45 minute drive.
If shopping is your thing, we are a short drive away from the Prada and Tod's shoes outlets, amongst others. If you are interested in art and have the time and inclination, you might make time for the long drive to the magical city of Urbino, Raphael's birthplace. Otherwise you could search out the art of Crivelli and his followers which can be found all over Le Marche. We are a 45 min drive from the Sibillini Mountains, which are the most beautiful of the Apennines. The cool and unspoilt waters of the lakes are a welcome respite from the hot summer sun. In winter it becomes a lowkey skiing resort.
