The apartment is situated 250 metres from the hotel & 50 metres from the beach. | |

| This consists of a double bedroom with a fully en-suite bathroom. It has air-conditioning/heating and a colour TV. It is rented out on a bed and breakfast basis with the option of half or full board if required. There is a wall safe that can be rented for euro 2.60 per day. | |

Outside
The apartments have access to a private section of a sandy Blue Flag beach and each is provided with use of an sun umbrella, lounger and beach chair. A BBQ can be provided upon request.
Coast/Beach
The private section of sandy beach is just 2 minutes walk. Santa Maria's beaches have been awarded 'Blue Flag' status since 1999 for the cleanliness of its water.
Special interest holidays
Hotel and residience ‘Pompeo’ Frazione Lago di Castellabate (SA). On the wonderful Castellabate coast there are irregular rocks as a sheer drop from the cliff to the sea. Here you find the most beautiful beaches in the Cilento’s area, rich in green and shadowy pine-woods. Hotel Pompeo is situated in this attractive landscape. Low season period is usually referred to cold months when the weather is rainy; but Cilento’s weather is always mild, the temperature is about 20 degree C.
Travel
The nearest airport is Naples and is approx 1hr 45mins drive. Car hire is available at the airport, alternatively an airport pick-up and drop-off service can be arranged at an extra cost subject to availability.
Tailor-made excursions can also be organised to such attractions as Pompeii, Amalfi Coast, Capri, Paestum, Herculaneam, Vesuvius & Grotte di Castelcivita.
Distances
There is a restaurant on site which provides excellent traditional Cilento food as well as offering a fine selection of wines. The village of Santa Maria is 20 mins walk away along the beach and promenade.
Further details
The village of Santa Maria has a good selection of shops, 3 banks and a post office as well as bars, restaurants and pizzerias. There is a lively Saturday morning market which offers a range of items from cheeses and olives to clothes, bed linen and a variety of leather goods.
The Cilento National Park, in the Region of Campania, has been recognised by the UNESCO since 1998 as part of the World Heritage with the following justification: “The Cilento is an outstanding cultural landscape. The dramatic groups of sanctuaries and settlements along its three east–west mountain ridges vividly portray the area's historical evolution: it was a major route not only for trade, but also for cultural and political interaction during the prehistoric and medieval periods. The Cilento was also the boundary between the Greek colonies of Magna Graecia and the indigenous Etruscan and Lucanian peoples. The remains of two major cities from classical times, Paestum and Velia, are found there (…) as well as the impressive monastic property of the Certosa di San Lorenzo in Padula”.
