Cancello Rosso was bought in 1980 by an English couple in love with the peaceful Maremma area of Italy for family use. Now refurbished to give simple terracotta floored accommodation and to take advantage of the lovely south facing aspect, there are terraces on the lower ground floor outside the two bedrooms, with relaxing chairs to catch the dipping evening sun and the ground floor terrace is wonderful for lunch, dinner and cocktails. The path down to the pool is paved. There are 8 comfortable loungers by the pool which has a raised wall around it, good for toddlers. There is also a pergola at the pool providing shade for the sleepy, or non-sun worshippers. The drive to the beach is twenty minutes to half an hour through the Maremma countryside; there are lots of wonderful simple restaurants in the immedate vicinity, and lots to see and do in this unspoilt corner of Tuscany, including Siena, Massa Marritima and and endless hill villages.

| Living Rooms: | Although this is really an outside house there is a inside table that seats 10 for those unexpected rainy days; next to the kitchen; and next door is a comfortable salotto with two large sofas and a couple of armchairs. Lots of books and games. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Linen provided at the beginning of stay. Bathtowels provided at the beginning of stay. Towels and linen changed once a week along with a clean. Extra cleaning can be supplied at an extra cost. |
Accessibility
This property is not suitable for wheelchair users as it is on the side of the hill which is all steps and steepish paths.
It may also not be suitable for parents with a nervous disposition for the same reason.

Terraced Mediterranean garden with tortoises and porcupines, plumbago and oleander - not irrigated.
Private swimming pool 16' x 32' with a deep and shallow end.

Drive to Punta Ala beach 30 minutes
Drive to Castiglione della Pescaia beach 20 minutes
All beaches in our area are sandy and long and in high season very busy and with ombrellones available.
