2 bedroom townhouse in Ostuni, Puglia
Stunning 18th Century Townhouse
Moments From The Piazza
Sleeps 4 (1 Bedroom)

The careful and time consuming renovation of Casa Amari was completed during Easter 2007. With no expense spared, the resulting finish is quite simply astounding. Although the property can sleep up to 5 people, we suggest that it is best suited to couples or small families (The quality sofabed in the lounge could then be left closed for relaxing on).

Notes on accommodation
The roof terrace and bedroom 2 are accessed through the bathroom. This is another reason why we recommend that this property is best suited to couples or small familes.
A top of the range air conditioning system has been installed to heat/cool the main part of the property, however this does not extend to the single rooftop bedroom 2.
Outside
The property has a beautiful private rooftop terrace with table and chairs, sunloungers and selection of lovely plants.
Coast/Beach
The drive down to the sea takes around 10 minutes from the Old Town. There are several lovely beaches near Ostuni including the sandy Pilone 2 and the gorgeous Torre Guaceto, a WWF protected nature reserve.
Golf
San Domenica golf course lies next to the town of Savelletri di Fasano and is approximately 20 minutes drive from Ostuni. Its south boundary is as close to the sea as the road and rocky coastline will allow. A challenging 18 hole 72 par course with superb views of the Adriatic. Together with strategic bunkering, definitive fairway shaping and a clever green design, a thought provoking golf test has been set. Open all year.
Travel
Cheapest flights from London are with Ryanair from Stansted to Brindisi (approx 20 mins drive) or Bari (approx 50 mins drive). British Airways and Alitalia also fly to Bari.
If flying with Ryanair discounted car hire is available through Hertz. Otherwise Europcar, National, Maggiore, Sixt and Targarent also have rental outlets at the airports.
It's possible to catch a train to Ostuni from either airport and get a taxi to the property from the station, or just simply get a taxi direct.
Distances
All times quoted are by car and are approximate:
Alberobello (Trulli village) 40 mins.
Fasano (Golf and Safari Zoo) 20 mins.
Lecce (stunning Baroque city) 60 mins.
Gallipoli (beautiful old port town) 100 mins.
Further details
Apart from the beautiful nearby beaches, one of the best things about staying in the centre of Ostuni town itself are the many gorgeous restaurants (which are surprisingly cheap!), stylish bars and cafes which are all within walking distance.
Rough Guide (Italy); "one of the most stunning small towns of southern Italy", "a gleaming white splash of sun-bleached streets and cobbled alleyways"
Lonely Planet (Italy); "stunning town of stark, whitewashed buildings", "the seemingly disordered tangle of narrow cobblestone streets, many little more than arched stairways between the houses, recalls a North African Arab medina"
Lonely Plant (Puglia & Basilicata); “Ostuni has a commanding position, its maze of tightly packed streets twisting around a dramatic 15th century cathedral encircled by medieval ramparts. It is the most popular Murgia town, mainly due to its proximity to the coast. In recent years it has become devilishly chic, and has the best after dark scene in the region”
If you like the idea of getting purposefully lost wandering around the cobbled sundrenched streets of a medieval walled town, stumbling across amazing restaurants (with ridiculously low prices !) and trendy bars, whilst catching glimpses of turquoise sea through the gaps between the beautiful old whitewashed townhouses, then Ostuni is for you!
