Finding places on Puglia's, narrow, winding roads can be difficult - especially so when its dark and you are tired after a long journey. 'No problemo' with The Olive Grove, as the drive joins the totally straight Appian Way North-South. In fact almost the entire quick run from Brindisi Airport is on 2 segments of the ancient Via Appia. We are centrally placed, so you have access to both the Adriatic to the East and Med (Ionian) seas to the West. As you can easily see in both directions from our location, you don't need to gamble on the best coastline for weather. Take a pleasant drive down to the historic city of Lecce and further onto the Cape, explore the interior of Southern Italy, Basilicata etc, or travel north a short way to the World Heritage Site and trulli country of Alberobello, the hilltop town of Ostuni, or simply laze in the San Vito sunshine. Changeover day
Changeover days are flexible.
Please vacate by 11a.m on departure day. A later departure time is possible if the apartment is not booked for later that day.
Arrival time 4 p.m. If you arrive before this time the apartment may not be ready for you.

Bedroom 2 with twin beds.
Ample wardrobe space is provided in both rooms.
Bathrooms: Bathroom with bath, separate shower, wc, bidet, wash hand basin.
Kitchen: Newly fitted modern kitchen with hob, fridge, washing machine, oven. Extensive selection of kitchen/cooking utensils provided.
Living Rooms: Extremely spacious open-plan living area, with dining table and 6 chairs, 3 seater sofa, 2 arm chairs, coffee table, and communications area with DECT phone, a Broadband Internet connected computer, and Wireless Access Point.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels and linen are changed once a week.
The apartment is cleaned on changeover day.

 

Notes on accommodation
The master bedroom can be used as a comfortable family room, having a double bed, single bed, occasional bed and a cot. The second bedroom has two single beds. These two bedrooms and the bathroom (with seperate shower and full-size bath) lead off from a small lobby on a well-lit and impressive open plan floor area. A safe is provided for your valuables.

Outside
The newly constructed half-Olympic length swimming pool (fitting-out completion end-June 2008) is believed to be the most luxurious private swimming pool in the province, if not in the whole of the Salento peninsula.

The "infinity pool" format makes is somewhat easier for adults to watch over children in the main pool - guests must of course ensure that a capable adult is present at all times.

There is also a large walled-off barbecue and family eating area immediately outside Coratina's main entrance, together with a private garden area with fruit trees on the other side of the main drive. It is not unusual to find the Italian gardener (non-English speaking) supplementing your larder with gifts of fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden.

Coast/Beach
We are centrally placed, so you have access to both the Adriatic to the East and Med (Ionian) seas to the West. The nearest Adriatic beaches are only about 6Km outside of San Vito. The Ionian Sea is only 30-40 minutes drive.
As you can easily see in both directions from our location, you don't need to gamble on the best coastline for weather.

Travel
Brindisi Airport is the nearest - about 20 minutes drive (20 Km)
Bari Airport is about 100 Km away - just over an hour's drive
The new Taranto airport is an easy drive of around 30 minutes.
For more ambitious tourers, from the port of Brindisi you can take a ferry to Greece or The Balkans. Alternatively take the autostrada to Sicily, the Amalfi coast, Naples, or Rome - all within easy reach. We'll welcome you back with a glass (or three) of one of the 'trulli' excellent local wines.

Distances
The nearest towns are San Vito Dei Normanni - just 2km up the road. To the south there is Mesagne, with it's charming "Centro Storico", Ostuni, "La Citta Bianca" is 14km to the North - the list is endless.
A car is essential, unless you intend to spend your entire time "chilling out" in the gardens.

On-site communications are first-class, with DECT phone, a Broadband Internet connected computer provided for your exclusive use, and a toll-free Wireless Access Point (coverage now extended to include the poolside recreation area) for your own laptop or PDA. There's even a Voice Over IP phone so you can make unlimited zero-cost international calls to other Skype users, or use your own Skypeout account to call regular phones all over the World. Digital terrestrial TV keeps you up to date with local or World events, DVD player with a well stocked library of English soundtrack discs and CD player with an extensive selection of CDs.

Places To Visit:
Take a pleasant drive down to the historic city of Lecce and further on to the cape; explore the interior of Southern Italy, Basilicata etc., or travel north a short way to the World Heritage Site and truli country of Alberobello. The famous hilltop town of Ostuni (Citta Bianca : White City) is the next town but one North from San Vito and can easily be reached in less than half an hour.

On Site Help
The native English speaking owners live just up the hill, on the far side of the same building, So, although available to help if ever required, it is nevertheless rather easy to respect each other's privacy. In emergency they can generally be reached by phone.

Single Person Occupancy (Not High Season)
For persons travelling alone we offer a single person occupancy reduction of €175 per week (or pro-rata) off normal rates. High Season is strictly excluded from this.

Booking notes
Quoted prices are per week, daily rates pro rata. Minimum stay 2 nights. Payment can be made in either Euros, UK Pounds, or US Dollars - so once payment is made you are protected from any changes in exchange rates. Payment can be made by Bank Transfer, either in Sterling or Euros, or by Paypal. 20% Deposit is payable when booking, with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival.
