Changeover day
From Saturday to Saturday. Check in from 4.30pm. Check out before 11am. In low season we are flexible according to availability.

Il Casuccio (4 Bedrooms, Sleeps up to 14 )

The whole property is set on 2 floors. On the first floor there is a large well-lit living room with an open-fire, a reading area with a library, sofa, armchairs and a sofabed for two people. A large dining room, lovingly furnished in the Tuscan style with a gorgeous open hearth and satellite TV. There is a kitchen and one twin bedded room + 1 additional bed and a large bathroom. On the second floor there is a spacious family room with a king size bed + two beds, one double bedroom and one bedroom with a single three-quarter bed, 2 bathrooms both with shower. Availability of 3 extra beds.

Il Castagno (3 Bedrooms, Sleeps up to 8)

Il Castagno sleeping 4/6 + 2 is one wing of the big house “Il Casuccio”. It is set on two floors, too and it is composed of the large dining room lovingly furnished in the Tuscan style with a gorgeous open hearth and satellite TV. The kitchen, the twin bedded room + 1 and the large bathroom. On the second floor there is the double bedroom, the bedroom with the single three-quarter bed and the large bathroom with shower. Availability of two extra beds.

Notes on accommodation
Hob, oven, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, satellite TV, room fans, fridge/freezer, microwave. iron/iron board, BBQ, cot, small safety cage on top of the stairs, use of washing machine. Towels and linen are included and changed weekly. The final cleaning at changeover is not included in the price.

Accessibility
The property is not suitable for those with restricted mobility.
Parking is available on the road outside the house.

Outside
Large garden and pool are adjacent to the house well equipped with sunbeds, tables, chairs, barbecue and a solar panelled shower. Shared use of the swimming pool with the proprietors who seldom use it. A wooded estate covering an area of approximately 2 hectares blends into the harmonious scenery of the valley.

Coast/Beach
Viareggio, one of the oldest seaside resorts in Europe, is appox 1 hour drive.

Golf
Montecatini golf course is a good 18 hole course within half an hours drive.

Skiing
The ski resort Abetone is not far from San Mommè.

Special interest holidays
In the hills around San Mommè you can take long walks, go trekking or mountain-biking, lake-fishing and perhaps visiting some of the many surrounding villages steeped in the history and traditions of the area. Children can play in the village park while teenagers and grown ups can play soccer at the village soccer field or tennis at the private tennis court of a Hotel in the village.
During the summer the village organizes evening dances, fancy-dress parties and Bingo with our typical gastromonic products as prizes.
If you are interested in spas you can not miss La Grotta Giusti of Monsummano Terme and the beneficial waters of Montecatini Terme both located a few kilometres from Pistoia.

Travel
The railway route links San Mommè to Pistoia and to Porretta Terme, a well-known spa resort of the nearby Region Emilia Romagna. Nearest international airport Florence at 48 km, Pisa airport at 79 Km.

Further details
In the local store you can go shop for fresh vegetables and warm Tuscan bread ("schiacciata") to eat with shepherd's cheese or genuine Tuscan salami. At the local café you can take refreshments as you enjoy the sunshine of the village square. You can try a real “bistecca fiorentina" and sample the delicious Chianti wine at the local restaurant (and all at very reasonable prices). In the village there is a Post Office – open 3 days a week, and Railway Station. The pharmacy is in Piteccio, 4 Km.

Booking notes
Payment at reservation : 20% of the total amount through bank transfer (you will be informed about the account number at confirmation of your reservation).
Balance to be paid in cash upon arrival.
Security Deposit: a deposit of a € 100 is required upon arrival. The full amount of the deposit will be returned on departure after inspection of the apartment has determined that no damage has occurred.
