This lovely property, set in a sumptuous olive and fig grove, has a large private swimming pool and full size tennis court. Cisternino and Ostuni are just minutes away by car. Here you can wander the ancient cobbled streets, enjoy the best food in Italy, meet the friendliest locals and enjoy a great market selling everything from local produce to the famous Francavilla pottery. The whole region is widely considered to be one of the most unspoilt in Italy - un vero paradiso! The villa is a pleasant 15 minute drive to the best family beaches in the area. The property has been lovingly restored to a high standard, with parts (the lovely stone trullo & lamia) dating back hundreds of years.The villa is cleverly split into 3 private wings, sleeping 4, 4 and 8 guests in each; or it can be rented as a whole sleeping up to 16.

Notes on accommodation
The villa and grounds extensive. The property is wonderful for families holidaying together but works equally well for smaller parties wanting more privacy.
The refurbishment of Villa Sant'Annina has been a real labour of love. The kitchens and bathrooms are all brand new and the whole property has been redecorated and refurbished throughout. We adore this house and hope you do to! Bath towels and linens are all provided. Beach towels not included.
There is a washing machine for communal use in a small wash house. This is available for use between 9 and 11.30am each day.
Accessibility
Villa Sant'Annina is a very special property. We are sure you will love it. We know we are biased, but we have not seen anything that comes near it!
Outside
The grounds extend to 9000 sq.m. of olive, almond and fruit trees. There are plenty of lovely places to sit outside, around the pool beneath a shaded gazebo and on the private terraces and roof terrace. The grounds are very typical of the area and offer a mini garden of eden with a wonderful selection of citrus, olive, almond and soft fruit trees. We even have a large avocado tree! The grounds are quite rugged in places and great for walking around and for kids to explore. They are definitely not Kew Gardens and there are no neat rows of pansies....which is why we love them so much! The grounds, pool and tennis court are for the exclusive use of our guests. The tennis court is a full sized court but the surface is not perfect. It is great for some fun games. The beautiful pool is great for children and adults with shallow and deep ends (please ensure that children are supervised at all times – there is no lifeguard!). Barbeques, tables and chairs are provided for al fresco dining.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is a beautiful 15 minute drive. This is the best family beach in the area, with water sports, fabulous beach restaurant, bar, sunbeds etc. The Puglian coastline offers some 500 miles of white sandy beaches. Whilst the local beach is our family favourite, there are beaches for every taste from tiny rugged coves to beautiful white sandy nature reserves.
Golf
There are golf courses a short drive away. The nearest is in Fasano, which is about 15 minutes away.
Special interest holidays
For a fee we can offer: horse riding, cookery classes, art classes, guided tours, Italian classes, shopping and dinner party service, baby sitting and maid service.
Travel
Ryanair, Alitalia and British Airways fly to Bari or Brindisi airports. Brindisi is our favourite (Ryanair or Alitalia from Stansted or Heathrow) and is about 35 minutes away by car. There is also a port at Brindisi offering ferries to Greece. Bari airport is about 55 minutes away.
Distances
Villa Sant'Annina is wonderfully positioned to explore the whole region. It is a 5 mins drive to the beautiful old city of Cisternino with its lovely old cobbled streets, fantastic restaurants and bars and huge market. It is also a short drive to Ostuni, Martina Franca and Alberobello (world heritage site/trulliland). It is also just 15 minutes to the best family beaches in the whole area. There are 500 miles of sandy coastline with blue star beaches in this region.You will be spoilt for choice!

Activities locally available include: Fasanoland - a fantastic safari/theme park for kids, sea/ocean, watersports, tennis, Castellano caves (amazing), endless wonderful towns to explore. We provide a detailed information pack for guests which will tell you far more than space will allow here!
The swimming pool is normally open late May til mid October, but exact dates depend on weather.

A 25% deposit is required to secure your reservation with the balance payable 6 weeks before the start of your holiday. A £150 returnable security deposit is also required. About the owner
My husband and I are both opera singers who have worked all over the world but have always had a huge passion for Italy. We have 3 children, aged between 3 and 13. Our dream was to own a mansion in Italy where we could enjoy long sunny summers with the kids (plus every other school holiday for that matter!). Having fallen for Puglia 6 years ago we bought a lovely little trullo in Ostuni. Lovely though it was, we still swooned over those magnificent country mansions until we finally gave in and realised our dream. We have poured our hearts and souls into renovating this property and have enjoyed every minute of it! We feel we are the luckiest people in the world to have this fantastic property in this gorgeous region and genuinely enjoy sharing it with our guests.We hope you love it too!

Puglia is famous amongst Italians for it's wonderful sandy coastline, fabulous local produce & olive oils & for the friendliest locals in Italy,yet the rest of the world are only just beginning to discover the regions charms, leaving it authentically Italian & unspoiled by tourism.The Zona Monti, in the heart of the beautiful Valle d'Itria, is one of the most beautiful locations we have ever seen.We never tire of the rolling hills, the sumptuous olive and almond groves and the beautiful vistas that unfold around every corner.Our local town,Cisternino, is a gem.The architecture and piazza are straight off an operatic set, yet it is a proper living Italian town. Our closest beach is the best family beach in the region. The food is to die for and it is the perfect base for exploring Puglia.
Unique benefits of the property
We love soaking up the sunshine around our enormous pool (reputed to be the biggest in Cisternino!) and picking ripe figs straight from our trees. We love the feel of being in the middle of paradise with the chance to be in the heart of Cisternino in just 5 minutes. We love the gorgeous unspoiled sandy beaches, and the amazing ice cream and the fresh local pasta and tomatoes. We love Fasanolandia, the local zoo safari theme park, and Alberobello - the world heritage Trulli Land. We love the medieval white city Ostuni, the baroque Martina Franca and Lecce, the stunning town Locorotondo and our favourite - the beautiful historical Oria. We love the fact that we have been in the area for 7 years and are still only scratching the surface.
