The Mulino nestles on the Valdarnese slopes of the Chianti hills and it is in the middle of the "golden triangle" of Florence, Siena and Arezzo, famous for its artistc heritage, landscape and its world famous wine and food. The nearest villages, Cavriglia, Montevarchi, San Giovanni, have shops, supermarkets and outlets where to find all that you need. Each apartment has a double entrance and private garden with outside table, chairs and market umbrella. The ample parking facilities and a laundry room supplied with iron and press board are communal. The property is surrounded by a spacious garden that stretches from the banks of the stream to the private road. Round the pool there is plenty of space to enjoy the summer sun. Each apartment has its own well organized harmonious green area where our guests can enjoy the cool of their own apartment. Majestic walnut trees, poplars, acacias and oaks, grow along the stream. The lawn offers sweet smelling bushes and aromatic herbs.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in euros. Please, don't hesitate to enquire for possible special rate reduction. Special offers for 2 weeks rentals and more, or for 2 or 3 apartments together: 800 euros; 1000 euros; 1200 euros; 1550 euros. The use of the Torretta bedroom in the Mill Stones apartments will be charged always 100 euros.

Changeover day
Rates are quoted for weekly periods commencing Saturday after 4:30 pm and ending before 9:30 am.
Other day/hour arrivals must be agreed beforehand.

Hay-loft Apartment (2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 4/5)

The name evokes the old use of this part of the Mulino di Rimaggio. It was the "hay-loft" where all the hay and other fodder were stored to feed the farm animals during the long winter months. The apartment is on 2 floors connected by a easy wooden staircase. The ground floor with direct access to the swimming pool, consist of a bright, spacious kitchen with dining area, a large living room with fireplace, a twin bedded room overlooking the stream and a bathroom with shower cabin. The upper floor has its own bathroom with shower cabin, a splendid, intimate double bedded room overlooking the swimming pool and a view of the olive groves and vineyards that gently rise at the feet of the village of Montegonzi in the distance. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, gas stove, electric oven, and all cooking tools, bread toaster, electric coffee machine and moka; dishes, glasses and cuttlers for 6 people. Linen and towels are courtesy of the house.

Mill-stones Apartment (3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 6)

This is the middle apartment of the Mulino di Rimaggio and originally the oldest part of the complex. The water chutes can be seen through special glass windows in the living room flooring and also in the garden when the original portions are picturesquely illuminated at night. The "Mill-stone" is on 3 floors, connected by an easy wooden staircase. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room, with fireplace, that opens directly onto the garden on the banks of the stream. On the second floor there a spacious doble bedded room with its shower cabin bathroom, and a twin bedded room with its own adjacent shower cabin bathroom. This floor opens directly on to the pool. Third floor, the Tower, is a small studio with a French bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, gas stove, electric oven, and all cooking tools, bread toaster, electric coffee machine and moka; dishes, glasses and cuttlers for 6 people. Linen and towels are courtesy of the house.

Stream Apartment (2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 4/5)

Almost the entire apartment runs along the banks of the Mulino di Rimaggio and it enjoys the atmosphere of the gently bubbling water. The airy apartment is on 2 floors connected by an easy staircase. The ground floor consists of the kitchen with a pleasant view over the brook and a large dining area that leads onto the garden with terrace, a cosy living room with fireplace and bathroom with shower cabin. On the upper floor there is a large double bedded room that looks over the stream on 2 sides, the bathroom with shower cabin and a large twin bedded room with French windows leading directly on a little terrace with a table and chairs and onto the edges of the swimming pool. This apartment has its own private gate. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, gas stove, electric oven, and all cooking tools, bread toaster, electric coffee machine and moka; dishes, glasses and cuttlery for 6 people. Linen and towels are courtesy of the house.

Notes on accommodation
All the apartments are provided with a private barbecue. In each apartment guests find the hairdyier. The Mulino di Rimaggio is open all year long, and in wintertime each apartment has its own heating. The wood for the fireplace is available on request. If needed we can provide a baby-cot.
In the garden there is a safe area for children.

Accessibility
The Mulino di Rimaggio is not really suitable for people with mobility problems.

Outside
Each apartment has its own private garden with outdoor furniture: parasol, table, chairs and 2 chaise longue.
The swimming pool size is 62ft long and 36ft wide and equipped with parasols and chaise longue. This wide pool is shared only by the guests of the 3 apartments.

Coast/Beach
From the Mulino di Rimaggio you can reach both the East coast or the West coast in about 2 hours driving. The scenic road "Volterrana" takes you to the Etruschi Coast, while Maremma is reachable by an easy Superstrada from Siena.
Scenic roads through the Appenines mountains take you to Rimini, Ravenna or Pesaro on the East Coast.

Golf
The most famous golf course in Tuscany (Ugolino) is about 45 minutes driving far.
There is a minigolf in Montevarchi, 8 Km far.

Special interest holidays
We like to spend some time with our guests making homemade pasta, tiramisù or gelato, children would be very welcome. We are at disposal to assist you planning your time at the Mulino with suggestions on day excursions to the countryside, the local open markets, or booking tickets for the most crowded museums of the art cities. Brochures and some guide books are available in the apartments.

Travel
The use of car is essential because the property is located in a rural area. The nearest airports can be reached by the
A1 Autostrada (motorway) which is just 10km (6 miles) from the Mulino di Rimaggio. International Airports: Florence Amerigo Vespucci 55km. Pisa Galileo Galilei 120km. Perugia 150km. Rome 200km. Florence and Arezzo can be reached by frequent local trains from Montevarchi train station, 8km. far.

The Mulino di Rimaggio is in a very strategic position.
Florence: 50km (30 miles). Siena: 40km (25 miles). Arezzo: 40km (25 miles).
The nearest villages and towns are: Montegonzi 1½Km (1 mile); Cavriglia: 4km (2½ miles); Montevarchi: 8km (5 miles); San Giovanni Valdarno: 10km (7 miles).

Further details
The Mulino di Rimaggio is located in an area of great historical and natural interest, where internationally recognised cultural manifestations are regularly organised. The Valdarno is home to some of the most famous and beautiful Romanesque Abbeys in Italy. Further back in history in the nearby city Montevarchi you can visit the Palaeontology Museum, the third most important in the world regarding the Pliocene. Another wonder not to miss is the Basilica di Santa Maria alle Grazie in the nearby city of San Giovanni Valdarno. In this Church you can admire the most famous works of Masaccio (who was born in this city), Beato Angelico and Giovanni da San Giovanni. At Cavriglia, just 3 km away, there is the famous Carla Fineschi Rose Garden, one of the finest collections of roses in Europe with 7,000 varieties. In May and June the flowers are a rare spectacle of colour and scents. You only have to look out of the window from the Mill's bedrooms for a magnificent view of the Medieval Borgo of Montegonzi, one of the most important in the area. Just 8 km away in the heart of the Chianti area, why not visit the old Abbey of Badia at Coltibuono? Its celebrated farm produces one of the best Chianti Classico wines and one of the most prized olive oil in the world. A little further and you are already in legendary cities like Siena. Florence and Arezzo, renowned for their beauty, historical importance and artistic heritage as well as their cultural events.
Just think of the Palio of Siena, the Maggio Musicale concerts and ballets in Florence, the Giostra del Saracino and the Guido d'Arezzo International Polyphonic Competition at Arezzo. World famous restaurants, wineries and delicatessens, a veritable paradise for gourmets are available in every town of Chianti area, to you the fun to discover them! On Thursday morning the open air market in Montevarchi, recommended by the Slow Food Movement, offers you the opportunity to buy fresh organic food directly from the farmers.

Booking notes
Mulino di Rimaggio is open all year long for weekly and monthly rentals. Different periods can be arranged on request.
Booking: we will give you a provisional booking valid for 7 days, during which time you will need to send us the booking form and the 40% deposit required to secure your booking.
Final payment of 60% must be done eight weeks before your expected arrival date.
The security deposit of 250 Euros will be requested at your arrival and it will be returned at the end of period.

Close your eyes and dream of an ideal Tuscan setting: At the end of an unpaved road there’s a mill surrounded by vineyards and trees, a stream flowing behind it, an inviting pool in the sun to relax in, and way up perched on the hill, is an ancient town overlooking it all. These visual delights greeted us when we arrived and at the Mill, Mulino di Rimaggio. And, we were further pleased to meet the most delightful owners and hosts, Francesca, Roberto, and Gloria, who went out of their way to greet us, provide us with a welcoming bottle of wine as well as basic provisions, and took the time to sit and chat and tell us all about the area and the history of the mill. The Hayloft was comfortable, clean and we wanted for nothing. My husband, our friends, and I have rented houses around the world and can truly say that staying at the Mill for a week was one of the most wonderful experiences we have had. Also, thank you Francesca for the wonderful tour and Roberto for your charming company.

Gloria and Francesca: our life styles and experiences are very different, and thanks to this "mixed blessing" at beginning of the nineties with our husbands we decided to embark on our incredible adventure that has brought new life to our Mulino di Rimaggio. Today each of us contributes dynamically to the management and hospitality of this exclusive resort drawing on our own individual experience and knowledge. Passionately in love with Tuscany, enthusiastic about its history and territory and ready to share our knowledge with you so you too can have your own special memories of our mill and its surroundings.
