Further details
This unique house contains many paintings and objects by famous artists, with a mix of contemporary and historic painters, from abstract to classical styles. The coast and all the sophistication of the Riviera is just 30km away along the quiet Argentina Valley, yet there are many inland villages with restaurants and cafes to explore. Banking facilities (cash machine) and post offices are at Molini (6km) and Badalucco (15km). Swimming is also available in many river pools nearby with the Lago Verde and Lago di Noce the most popular at Molini. Walking and hiking on the Alta Via and a network of local paths is right on the doorstep. It's also a paradise for mountain bikers with dedicated routes and unsurfaced roads in the mountains with excursions with local guide or club. Road biking is almost a religion in the area, with the Classic Milan-San Remo bike race in March, and practically deserted roads. Bird watchers and nature lovers will find much to enjoy in the surrounding countryside, or even just from the terraced garden. Eagles, buzzards, woodpeckers, hoopoes etc, with an abundance of wild flowers including the extremely rare Edelweiss found in the vicinity. Triora is famous for its annual Mushroom festival held at the end of September and the woods and countryside are a veritable cornucopia of edible fungus. Care is required, with excursions with a guide available to pick mushrooms. All summer long there are various festivals in the nearby villages, all featuring wonderful food and dancing. Some Andagna, are aimed at the younger end, with contemporary dance music attracting many from San Remo and beyond. Detailed maps are available locally plus there is a portfolio of local information at the house, eg restaurants, banks, etc.
