Accessibility
Car arrives 10 metres from front door, but long term free parking is in centre of village (100 metres distant). The apartment sits at the bottom of a steep road.
Coast/Beach
15 kms from sea. Long, clean beaches with natural pine forest, with bathing suitable for children. Beach resort town with shopping & local craft market and enormous fun park.
Travel
Pisa airport, 70 km away. Channel port, Livorno 60 kms away. Car use is recommended, although there are buses to & from village.
Distances
Apartment is situated in the village, Sassetta. Castagneto Carducci, a larger village is 8 km away & Donoratico, with supermarkets is 11kms.
The area is one of mediaeval hill towns, wooded hills & olive groves & internationally famous vineyards, centred on Boghieri (18 kms). Popolonia with Etruscan tombs next to famous Gulf of Baratti is 25 kms away. Elba & Napoleon's villa is reached from the port Piombino, 35kms away.
The Tower of Pisa an hour's drive, Florence & Sienna 2hours.

The village has a good choice of bars & restaurants/pizzeria. Local shops, bank/ cash machine, post office, doctor & chemist, petrol station, local police station.
Cobbled street, with bakery adjacent, & grocery shop nearby.
Hunting & mushroom picking in season. Local festas & craft markets in the summer & autumn.
