Charming village house in the Piazza of historic Sommocolonia. Perched high above the beautiful medieval town of Barga, the house offers it's visitors glorious views of the Appenine foothills. The house is of original stone build, recently renovated to the highest standard, but maintaining traditional Tuscan character (cotto floors and chestnut beams). Accommodation includes 4 comfortable bedrooms sleeping 8 people.

| Kitchen: | Fully equipped kitchen, including range cooker, dishwasher, microwave etc. Another fully equipped summer kitchen on Cantina level. |
| Utility Room: | All equipment is either in main kitchen, or in the summer kitchen. |
| Living Rooms: | Sitting room on ground floor with antique stone fireplace. Second sitting room/taverna on cantina level with another large antique stone fireplace. |

Towels and linen will be provided. Fresh towels/linen are provided each week, along with the house being cleaned weekly. |
Notes on accommodation
No air-coniditioning as the deep stone walls keep the house cool in summer, and warm in winter. There is no television, deliberately! No private pool, but a communal pool in Barga, which is a great place to socialise with people from all cultures. Items such as high chairs and cots are not in the house as such, but can be arranged on request. Although no BBQ, there is a large working pizza oven on the terrace.

Accessibility
Unfortunately the stairway access is not suitable for the infirm or disabled.
Outside
There are two outdoor areas, one a 25m² pergola-covered paved terrace, with a pizza oven, and outdoor dining. The other outdoor area is at the front of the house, which can be used as an area for sitting out, outdoor furniture provided, or can be used as an area to park cars.
Coast/Beach
An hours drive west will take you to the beaches of the Ligurian sea.
Travel
80 minutes drive from Pisa airport and a similar time from Florence, for airports. Lucca is about a 35 minute drive away for train or bus users.
Distances
The neareast town is Barga, 5 minutes drive down the hill from the village. Lucca is about 35 mins away, and Pisa and Florence 80 mins.
Further details
Although there is no shop or bar in the village, Barga contains most of the neccessities and other facilities, such as supermarkets, bars, hotels, cafes and pizzerias. There is also the communal pool, which is open only in summer, but is greatly popular amongst the people of Barga, and it's visitors.
