Changeover day
Check-in Saturdays between 3pm and 6pm. It is possible to alter the arrival time given advance notice. On the day of departure, the house must be vacated by 10am.

Casa Gigliola

Bedrooms: The holiday home has two double bedrooms, one with king-size bed and one with queen-size, both with ample storage space. The master bedroom has a small TV and the second bedroom has a desk. Both bedrooms have wooden floors. Linen is provided. Bathrooms: Casa Gigliola has one and a half bathrooms. The full bathroom has a bathtub. The second bathroom has a basin, WC and bidet but no shower or bathtub. Towels and hairdryer are provided. Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped with everything necessary for our guests to cook delicious meals. Table and chairs for four. Microwave, fridge and freezer, a gas stove, toaster, pots and pans, cutlery, plates and glasses, kitchen towels and washing machine. Living Rooms: Large dining room with table for 8 and a double sofabed. Sitting room with a double sofabed and two armchairs, TV and more bookshelves and storage space. The sitting room can comfortably accommodate 3 people on the sofabed and on a fold-up bed.

Casa Celeste

Casa Celeste is a beautiful and recently-renovated holiday apartment. It is located on the very private top floor of our holiday villa in Tuscany, with independent entrance on the ground floor. The apartment has central heating and air conditioning for the summer. The apartment is made up of 4 beautifully-decorated rooms with a light blue pastel colour motif. This holiday flat near Siena has one double bedroom, with ample storage space. Linens are provided. Casa Celeste has one bathroom with shower, bidet and washing machine. Towels and hairdryer are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything necessary for our guests to cook delicious meals (microwave; fridge and freezer; toaster, etc.). The sitting room has a double sofabed, Sat TV and two antique rocking-chairs to relax in the cosy area. From the kitchen area, guests can access a large private balcony with a table and chairs to eat outside in the warm summer nights. Incredible views over village and countryside.

Notes on accommodation
Casa Gigliola is very suitable for families with children, because the garden is fenced and just across the street there are public gardens with children playground and public swimming pool. Moreover the apartment has 1,5 bathrooms and two separate bedrooms, so it is the perfect options also for two couples of friends.
Casa Celeste is ideal for couples or small families. The beautiful balcony makes it very private. The amazing decor makes it extremely romantic, and ideal for honeymoons.
We do not accept smokers and pets, sorry.

Accessibility
The apartment is not suitable for people with mobility problems because it is on the second floor with no lift, sorry.

Outside
Guests of Casa Gigliola have private use of the front garden, where they will find garden chairs on a paved area.
Guests of Casa Celeste have private use of the large terrace on the top floor furnished with garden funiture. The apartment has airconditioning.
Our guests can park their car in a fenced area in the back of the house.

Coast/Beach
Being on the border with the Upper Maremma, Massa Marittima and the metalliferous hills as well as hilltop villages such as Roccastrada, Montemassi and the northern coast of the Maremma are both easy daytrip destinations. Follonica can be reached in 50 minutes.

We are happy to recommend restaurants and itineraries. We can arrange for cooking classes, and for wine and olive oil tasting tours with driver.

Casa Gigliola and Casa Celeste are vacation rentals in Val di Merse, south of Siena, in the village of Monticiano. They are only 5km away from the mysterious Abbey of San Galgano and the legendary sword in the stone.
The villa is located in a green residential area, with childrens' playground, tennis court and public swimming pool nearby. Just a few steps away from the holiday home is a walking trail that leads to the abbey and horseback riding facilities, where the jockeys of the world-famous Palio di Siena train throughout the year.
Monticiano is an equally good base for art lovers and for nature lovers, and it also offers a number of opportunities to discover the culinary tradition of this area of Tuscany.
From Monticiano, our guests can easily reach the most popular areas and cities in Tuscany (i.e. Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca, Arezzo, etc.). The village is in the Siena area, in Val di Merse. From here, the Crete Senesi and the Val d'Orcia with Buonconvento, San Quirico d'Orcia, Montalcino and Pienza are easily reachable.
Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra and the Chianti region can be visited with day trips, both via the highway E78 and the old road which offers amazing view of the countryside.
The Montagnola senese, with Sinalunga, but also the border of Tuscany and Umbria, with Cortona and Montepulciano can be reached in an hour.
Being on the border with the Upper Maremma, Massa Marittima and the metalliferous hills as well as hilltop villages such as Roccastrada, Montemassi and the northern coast of the Maremma are both easy daytrip destinations.
For nature lovers, Monticiano and the Val di Merse represent a unique experience. This is one of the best preserved and greenest areas in Tuscany, with its woods and rivers. And the natural hot springs of Petriolo and the thermal baths are only 15 minutes away.

Reservation deposit (non refundable) - 30% of total rental price. Balance upon arrival in cash - 70% of total rental price.
Security deposit (in cash upon arrival) - 100 euros.
Extra bed for the 7th person - 5 euros per day in low season; 10 euros per day in mid season; 15 euros per day in high season.
In the case of a cancellation the reservation deposit is not refundable.

When we arrived the owner was there to meet us and what made the welcome most special was that she had a pot of ragu and pasta ready for us so we needn't worry about supper. The place was spotless and she was most helpful whenever we asked questions or needed directions. Her father tended to his garden and quite generously provided us with lettuce, red onions, basil and zucchini. On one other night she made us an enormous pot of risotto funghi - delicious! She was very friendly and if any prospective clients would like a referral we would be most glad to give it. Thank you for helping to make our holiday in Italy such a memorable one.'
