Albiano is one of the most prestigious place of the Serchio valley, in fact the gorgeous view that it offers over the whole valley and the ancient walled town of Barga is absolutely unique.The place is peaceful and unspoilt. Barga can be reached in less than 5 mins by car and about 30 mins on foot. It is a lively, cosmopolitan town with a wide variety of wine bar, cafes, restaurants, shops and services.Barga boastsan opera house, a jazz festival, a wide number of outdoor feasts, dances and concerts and a modern swimming pool with a beautiful view.The historical centre, which dates back to medieval times, is a honeycomb of teeny lanes, cobbled alleys and stairways, spilling onto lovely little piazzas. Barga is strategical to plan visits to Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Siena and the seaside. There is a train station in the nearby town of Fornaci di Barga. Services are cheap and regular, and connect with the major towns and cities in the region.
