Set in a sleepy bay beside Porto Istana, a 15 minute drive from the port town of Olbia in Sardinia's Costa Smeralda region, this traditional family villa sits in approximately two thirds of an acre of grounds and is the perfect, private getaway for a nice, long and relaxing break. The garden stretches right down to the beach from where you get stunning views of the bay, or if you wish you can simply climb the rocks behind the house and watch the sun set over the islands. Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday.
Guests should arrive on Saturday evening (after 5:30pm) and leave by midday the following Saturday.

Utility Room: There is a washing machine in the main bathroom, behind the door.
Living Rooms: Large open plan living space with a long dining table, big sofas, wicker chairs and a TV, not forgetting the open fire if you are there in the winter.
Other: There is a large outside terrace with it's own sofas and dining table, as well as an outside shower and storage for firewood.

Notes on accommodation
There is an air-conditioning/heating unit in each bedroom, should you require them.
The property is ideal for families, as the beach is at the bottom of the garden so there is no need to travel to get there! There is also little (e.g. practically no) traffic!

Accessibility
Living space and terrace is without steps and access to the beach is step-free, however there are two steps up to bedrooms 2 and 3, a step down in to bedroom 1 and a step up in to the kitchen - the en-suite bathroom in bedroom 1 has step-free access from the bedroom itself and is spacious.

Outside
This property is very private, in approximately two thirds of an acre of private gardens at front and behind. Mature shrubs and trees mask the house from people on the beach and it is set well away from the nearest public road and other houses. There are stunning views from the rocks within the gardens to the rear of the house, and the garden path takes you directly on to a quiet sandy bay. There are garden chairs and a table provided, as well as an outdoor shower and utility room with spare fridge and washing machine.

Coast/Beach
The villa is literally on the beach!

Golf
San Teodoro, 20 kms (approx. 12 miles) away has the Golf Club Puntaldia. There is also the Pevero Golf Club at Porto Cervo, 45 kms (approx. 30 miles) up the coast.

Special interest holidays
Diving is very popular and there is an excellent diving centre at Porto San Paulo, across the bay (about a 15 minute drive).
Tennis courts and football pitches are available at the nearby Park Hotel, as well as sailing and windsurfing from the main beach in the bay during summer. The whole east coast of Sardinia offers some excellent spots for kitesurfing and windsurfing. Those willing to travel can take their pick of the beaches, but the nearby beaches of Le Saline and Murta Maria, in the next bay north, are renowned for the brilliant windsurfing and kitesurfing conditions. Le Saline boasts a windsurfing school and both are between 10 and 20 minutes from the villa by car.

Travel
Two arrival Airports are suitable: Olbia is a 15 minute drive away and has multiple car hire options. Alghero about an hour and a half away, and also has multiple car hire options. There also is Cagliari, but that is a 3 hours drive, and it's on the other side of the island...Ryanair: Stansted - Alghero: all year.
Easyjet: Bristol - Olbia : summer. London GTW - Olbia: summer. Stansted - Cagliari: all year. Jet2: Leeds bradfore - Olbia: summer. BMI: East Midlands - Alghero: summer.

An initial deposit of 50% of the total rental charge is payable in order to secure the booking. The remaining 50% is payable 10 working days before the start of the rental period. The remaining balance is to be paid before final property details can be sent out.
Unfortunately we are only able to accept couples and families.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
The villa is remote, quiet, has a beautiful safe beach for children and was perfect for us when our two children were young. These days it is our retreat in the summer months from the bustle and heat of Milan.
