In the very heart of an unknown and unspoilt part of Tuscany where life still follows the pace of nature sits Paugnano, an authentic Tuscan farmhouse surrounded by stunning views and wild nature. Originally part of a convent, Paugnano is now an organic farm producing Pecorino cheese, olive oil and vegetables. The farmhouse is divided in 5 flats - 3 of which are for rental and an independent barn, all restored with care and attention to detail. A large, rustic but well kept park offers an inviting 6x12m large swimming pool with jacuzzi, some children's games, and a magnificent view over the surrounding hills and the nearby hilltop village of Radicondoli. The house offers also a large kitchen/dining room with a huge fireplace with sofas for people to stay together and where Giovanna, the owner, can produce simple, genuine, scrumptious meals on request for up to 12 people. For the most daring guests Paugnano offers another room with a wood oven and large table. Free internet.

Il Vescovo has a huge open living area with fireplace, sofa, stunning views over the valley and the medieval village of Radicondoli. The kitchen is fully fitted with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, 4 stoves, pots and pans, toaster. There are 2 very large double bedrooms, one of which has an extra single bed. The decor is of an elegant Italian farmhouse, with pieces inherited by the family and some new items. There is 1 bathroom with shower. At the front of the house there is a lovely loggiato and a wooden table with chairs for outdoors eating. TV with DVD player and satellite. The house has central heating powered with wood. Heating is charged at 12 euro per day per house. Total surface of the flat: 100sqm. |

Il Melo has an incredibly wide and bright open living area with a big fireplace and a glassed arch about 4 metres wide opening onto the stunning view of the valley and village opposite. There 2 large double bedrooms each with its own full bathroom with shower. The decor is rather elegant but sober, with furniture inherited through generations. Wooden beamed ceilings and terracotta floors. TV and DVD player and satellite. The house has central heating powered with wood. Heating is charged at 12 euro per day per house. | This beautifully restored independent barn has its own terrace overlooking the valley, a lovely pergola with a table and 2 benches for outside eating. The open living area has a fireplace, 2 sofas and a fully fitted kitchen with fridge/freezer, dishwasher and 4 stoves. There are 2 large double bedrooms and two full bathrooms with shower. Notes on accommodation
Vescovo and Giovanna are better suited to families with young children. Free wi-fi ADSL internet connection available for guests.
Accessibility
All apartments have easy and large access at ground level, there are no steps to get into the houses, nor into the bathroom. The house was specially constructed for mobility problems, but is mobility problem friendly.
Outside
There are various tables for outside eating, a swing for children, a 6x12 swimming pool with whirlpool. The farm produces cheese, oil, honey. The sheep are all kept on the premises. There are 4 dogs and 5 cats!
Coast/Beach
Radicondoli is only 65km from the beautiful Tyrrenean coast - Castiglione della Pescaia, Follonica, Mount Argentario.
Travel
Pisa and Florence are both 100km away on good roads.
Car rental is essential, check Maggiore, Hertz and Avis with some anticipation.
Distances
The beautiful medieval village of Radicondoli is a mere 5km away and Belforte 2km. Siena 50kms, Florence 70km, S. Gimignano 35km, S. Galgano 25km.

In Radicondoli you can find restaurants, groceries, bakery, chemist, post office, bank, butcher and physiotherapist. Do not miss a pizza at sunset at 'La Pergola' in Radicondoli. The area is rich in thermal spas. Petriolo and Galleraie are but a few where you can spend a special day out lazing in the hot water under the sun... or the moon!

What a fantastic holiday we have had at Paugnano, we all really didn't want to come home.
The quality of the accommodation was excellent, extremely clean and well equipped, and the setting could not have been improved. We loved having breakfast outside looking at the beautiful Tuscan hills.
We were lucky enough to have 2 weeks of hot sunshine so the pool was well used and marvellous to come back to after a hectic day sightseeing. Our stay at Paugnano is one of the best holidays we've had. We are determined to return!! Thank you Karen and family - August 2008.
