Appartamento Belvedere is approx 1km from the Baroque town of Martina Franca. It is modern, warm (underfloor heating in winter), cool in summer, spacious and has everything necessary to make your stay in Puglia enjoyable. There is a patio and garden, for eating and relaxing in the sun, and a pool. This light and airy apartment occupies the ground floor of the villa and is not too isolated, being in a prestigious residential area for local families. Appartamento Belvedere provides a convenient base for you to explore Puglia at any time of the year, even Christmas. Centrally-placed, it is within easy driving distance of tourist attractions such as the towns of Alberobello, Ostuni, Cisternino and the beaches. It is also very well-suited if you wish to search for your own 'place in the sun' or need to visit Puglia frequently to check on the progress of building projects, as the minimum stay is just 3 nights so why not have an autumn break and spend some time in the Puglian sunshine?

Prices are for the property per week in pounds sterling. Stays of less than one week are priced pro rata.
Changeover day
Changeover day is normally Saturday in July and August, although we can be flexible if there are gaps in bookings, so please do ask if you prefer to come on a different day. Out of peak season, it is flexible and we have a minimum stay of just 3 days.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 has a large king-size bed which could be divided into two singles. A TV can be provided in this room, if required. Bedroom 2 has twin beds. A Z-bed can be provided for an extra child. Both rooms also have a good range of fitted furniture. |
| Bathrooms: | Both bathrooms are modern, fully-tiled and are fitted with shower units, WC and bidet and wash basin. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen has an oven and hob with extractor fan, fridge, dishwasher and plenty of cupboards. Microwave, freezer and washing machine are available in a separate utility area. |
| Utility Room: | The utility area is outside the kitchen. It has a washing machine, microwave oven and freezer. There is also a wood burning bread/pizza oven for the more adventurous cook. |
| Living Rooms: | The lounge/diner is very spacious and comfortable. The lounge, with its magnificent picture window, has a marble log fire, TV, DVD and comfortable seating for 7-8 people. The oak dining table can accommodate up to 8 people comfortably. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
All towels and linen for use within the apartment are included. Beach towels for use in the pool or to take to the beach are also provided. Cleaning is done once a week for stays of longer than a week, otherwise cleaning is done on changeover day. |
Notes on accommodation
A cot and high chair can be provided, if requested before your holiday. The accommodation has under-floor gas central heating which is excellent for winter lets.
This is also an excellent property for an out-of-season holiday. Why not get away from all that Christmas stress and spend the festive season relaxing in Puglia where the pace of life is a little slower?

Accessibility
The property is on the ground floor and is, therefore, suitable for those with mobility problems. However, parts of the garden are terraced and access to the pool could be a problem for some. Please email for more specific information.
Outside
The garden has a patio with a table and chairs, sun loungers and a barbecue. The swimming pool, approx. 6x5m and 110 cm deep is in a separate, fenced-off area of the garden and also has a small table and chairs and sun-loungers for relaxing in the sun. There is plenty of outside seating with sun-loungers, tables and chairs etc. and a full-size table tennis table for guests to use. There is also an outdoors pizza/bread oven for adventurous cooks.
Coast/Beach
Appartamento Belvedere is almost centrally-placed between the beaches of the Adriatic sea and the Ionian Sea (approx. 30 - 40 minutes drive away respectively). Some of the beaches have a bar or restaurant with shower facilities and sun beds and umbrellas which can be hired, whilst others are more simple, natural and less crowded. Beaches are mainly sandy but there are also some rocky beaches too.
Travel
The nearest airports are Brindisi (approx. 50 mins) and Bari (approx 1 hour 10 mins). A car is essential in order to visit places of interest and to enjoy this lovely area.
Distances
Places of interest include Ostuni, the 'White City', approx. 20 minutes drive; Alberobello, the famous trulli capital, approx. 30 minutes drive; Lecce, the `Florence of the South`, is an hour away. The UNESCO site at Matera (known as `I Sassi`) where people lived in caves carved out of sandstone, is approx. 1hr and a half away and provides a very interesting visit. Nearer to home, the zoo safari at Fasano is a lovely day out for families and is 20 minutes drive away.
Further details
The apartment is approx. 1km from Martina Franca - a good-sized town with many shops, supermarkets, restaurants, bars, banks etc. and a delightful historical centre with its maze of tiny alleyways. If guests require any basic shopping to be provided for their arrival or a simple evening meal of cold meats, local cheeses, desert and wine - this can be arranged. Restaurant bookings can also be made on guests` behalf. There is a modest selection of DVDs, including some specialist classic Italian films for the film buff. There is also a selection of guide books and maps, along with some English language (and Italian) novels which guests are welcome to borrow during their stay.
Booking notes
25% is payable (in sterling by bank transfer) on booking confirmation, and the remainder is payable by the same method 8 weeks before the beginning of your stay, or in cash (euros) on arrival, if booking is at the last minute.
