Trullo Solari is a luxury property set in 5 acres of peaceful countryside, just 2km from Ceglie Messapica in Puglia, Southern Italy. With 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms you have all the space you need to enjoy a holiday with friends and/or family, yet still retain privacy. All bedrooms are part of the house yet also have access to the gardens. This major restoration project has recently been completed. Come and enjoy the sunshine, friendly people and delicious food, and find out why more and more people are recommending Puglia to their friends. The property has been designed to be beautiful, comfortable and environmentally friendly. Solar power is used for hot water and heating the house in winter, and waste water is re-used (please use the organic bodycare products provided). In cooler months, underfloor heating and the wood-burning stove will keep you warm. The trullo’s traditional thick walls and high ceilings keep it cool in summer. The surrounding grounds are maintained organically.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds, inclusive of cleaning, heating, electricity, linen and beach / pool towels and mid week maid service, locally programmed navigator and internet access.
Solari Studio, a 50 square metre space available for activities or a fifth bedroom is available for an extra £500 per week. This may also be available to rent independently in low season. Please enquire.
Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Saturday. Please arrive after 3pm and leave by 10am on departure day.
| Bedrooms: | 2 bedrooms have double beds and 2 can be set as double or twin. 2 of the bedrooms have vaulted ceilings, and 1 has an open fireplace. All the bedrooms have their own adjoining bathrooms and have direct access to the garden as well as the house. |
| Bathrooms: | All bathrooms have a shower, sink, WC and bidet. They have been designed to be simple but stylish. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is set within a trullo cone, which opens through to the living room. The kitchen is a joy to cook in with quality pans and accessories. Facilities include cooker, four ring gas hob, two fridges, dishwasher, microwave and espresso maker. |
| Utility Room: | A washing machine and drying facilities are available for your use. |
| Living Rooms: | The dining room is set under a trullo cone, creating space for an intimate dinner, for evenings when you don't eat outside. The living room features an 8 metre long patio window which leads out to the pool. iPod dock, DVD player and TV screen provided. |
| Other: | Attached, but independent of the main villa, Solari Studio complete with own bathroom and kitchenette. This is available for meetings, cookery classes, yoga and other activities. It is also possible to rent as a fifth bedroom. Available for an extra fee. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Towels, linen and pool towels are provided and changed weekly. A mid week maid service is also included. We are happy to provide airport or motorway to meet and greet and lead you to the trullo. A welcome pack with all the basics as well as some treats. |

Notes on accommodation
Hot water and under-floor heating is provided by solar panels, and topped up with the wood burning stove (and / or gas boiler) in winter. The building's traditional design and thick walls ensure that it is kept cool in summer. The pool has a shallow area for all the family to paddle in. Solar panels provide extra warmth in the pool when needed.
You may want to block access to the roof terraces to protect small children.
Accessibility
The property has good wheelchair access. Each bedroom has open access to the garden, and the inside and external floor levels are the same.
Outside
Set in 5 acres of olive and fruit trees, there is plenty going on outside to delight you. Help yourself to the seasonal fruit and veg. There is a full outside kitchen with sink, BBQ (grill) and wood fired pizza oven.
Dining seating is provided at the front of the property, and sun loungers at the back by the private pool. The pool is 5x10m, with a shallow area for paddling and toddlers. Solar panels provide extra warmth to the pool, when needed.
For your entertainment and maybe to work off some of the amazing local food, there is also a trampoline, children's merry-go-round and a sports court for badminton, volleyball or basketball.
Coast/Beach
The Adriatic sea is just 15 mins from Trullo Solari, with family beaches and all facilities you need - including seafood and gelato! On the opposite coast, the Ionian, you will find stretches of open beach. Both coastlines offer large beaches and quiet coves, with beautiful clear blue water. Further south the shore becomes more rugged and dramatic.
Golf
5 star luxury Golf resort and spa near the fishing village of Savelletri near Fasano, which is mid-way between Bari and Brindisi. San Domenico golf course is approx 30 mins away from Trullo Solari.

Travel
Just 30 mins from Brindisi or an hour from Bari, Trullo Solari is easily reached by Ryanair flights from London Stansted as well as regular connections from Rome and Milan. We recommend that you hire a car to ensure you can explore the are and get the most from your Puglia holiday.
Distances
Ceglie Messapica is just 2km from Trullo Solari, and provides all the amenities that you may need, including an attractive old town for your evening promenade. Ostuni, just 10km from Trullo Solari, is a fantastic hill town, with the Centro Storico revealing great bars and restaurants. Alberobello - the trullo village is a 30 min drive. Lecce, the Florence of the south is an hour's drive.

We have had a lovely time here at Trullo Solari! Started with a midnight swim the night we got here and that set the mood right for a week of swimming, tanning, exploring the area, pizza baking and gelato eating!
Our time in Italy and Trullo Solari has been brilliant. The swimming pool and the villa are gorgeous! We all especially enjoyed the pizza oven, the results were delicious!
Trullo Solari has been sympathetically and cleverly renovated providing luxurious accomodation with a respect for the environment. C & K have been great, friendly and informative - nothing too much trouble! Would love to return.

About the owner
After purchasing Trullo Solari and commencing the restoration, we got so excited about Puglia that we moved here! We love to share Trullo Solari and Puglia with guests, and help you make the most of their holiday. We live about 20mins from Trullo Solari, so are on hand if you have any problems, or just need a restaurant reservation, a pizza cooking lesson or some translation!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We love Puglia, the people, weather, food and wine! We broke all the rules when we bought Trullo Solari; acted on instinct and bought on the first visit! Luckily everything has worked out, and our architect helped turn the property's charms into luxurious modern living.
There are many things that we didn't appreciate when we bought the property such as the peace and privacy, and the wonderful green views. As I said, we really did get lucky.
Unique benefits of the property
When we renovated Trullo Solari we opened up the entire back of the house to allow natural light to enter.
This is something that many traditional trulli miss out on, as they were built to keep the weather out. The french windows at the back of the house are 8 metres long and lead out to a terrace and then the pool.
Another great thing about Trullo Solari that many visitors have commented on is that there are lots of areas to use, the pool terrace, the front dining terrace, the private lemon patio, the roof terrace and the chill deck. This, and the fact that every bedroom has a door leading directly to the outside (as well as internal) means that even if you are with a large group, you can always find some peace and privacy.
