The property is located in Ponte alla Badia an ancient hamlet in a verdent area with impressive Renaissance villas and gardens bordering Florence and Fiesole. It was built alongside the river 'Il Mugnone' which runs behind the building in which the apartment occupies the second (top) floor. Ponte alla Badia is only 10 minutes from the centre of Florence by bus (line 1A) with a stop only 100m from which the bus goes directly to the Piazza del Duomo and S.M. Novella station. Advantages of the location are the ample free, safe parking alongside the building and proximity to the European University. The owners offer their clients the option of a combined city and country experience in Tuscany. Notes on accommodation
The apartment was fully restored in 2008 and has been equipped with air conditioning and modern central heating system, new kitchen and bathroom but still retaining the character of its ancient past while having a contempory luxurious feel.
Outside
Terrace with sitting space where an aperitive can be taken while enjoying the panoramic views of the villas, olive groves and gardens on the hills opposite and the river below.
Ample free and safe parking space in the roadway alongside the building.
Coast/Beach
One hour drive to the coast by highway.
One hour drive to Siena and Pisa.
Half an hour drive to the Chianti area.
Travel
Florence airport which has a shuttle service to the central station at S. M. Novella from which the 1A bus takes you to the Badia where it terminates. Pisa airport with train service to Florence station and then same bus line. Car is handy for trips outside of the city but not essential.

We stayed in this delightful apartment for the month of September 2008. The apartment is very well equipped, especially the kitchen with all the small appliances that North Americans appreciate when they are away from home. The property was completely refurbished just before our arrival and far exceeded our expectations. Carla & Anthony were very gracious hosts and made us very welcome. They made further contact with us during our stay to make sure that no unforeseen problems were marring our vacation. The location is quite, safe and is ideal for touring Firenze using the 1A bus route mere metres away and is within easy driving distance to many wellknown towns in Tuscany.
