There’s a centre on the island devoted to outdoor pursuits, with great facilities and equipment for climbing, kayaking, mountain biking and even windsurfing. One of the main destinations for hikers near accommodation on the Isle of Raasay is Dun Caan, an extinct volcano with a flat summit that offers wonderful views of the region. Yet there also numerous interesting sights across the island, with picturesque bays and lochs all around the coastline. The ruins of Brochel Castle can be reached on foot from holiday homes on the Isle of Raasay and sit perched precariously on a rugged pinnacle overlooking the water.
