Golfers staying in a rental holiday home on the Isle of Arran are well catered for with seven good courses including Lamlash with spectacular views over the Ayrshire Coast. A visit to Ailsa Craig, an island a few miles away while you are staying in a cottage on the Isle of Arran can be organised from the mainland or Cambeltown and can be seen from the south end of Arran. The highest mountain on the island, Goat Fell can be climbed from Brodick, and there are some fabulous walks from Whiting Bay one of which takes in the Glenashdale Falls; add pony trekking, boating and beaches and there are plenty of activities to keep everyone happy during a stay in Isle of Arran accommodation.

Isle of Arran self-catering cottages are in an area influenced by the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf Stream which create a mild oceanic climate. Again Arran emulates Scotland with the southern half of the island having a more favourable climate to the north and the east coast more sheltered than the west.
