It feels like you are miles from anywhere, yet Tinahely is only 10 minutes away and your first Guinness is two minutes up the hill to the Dying Cow. If it’s a Thursday, you will hear traditional Irish music at the pub and some famous musicians playing. As you approach the Thatch you realise the superb location, a tranquil and beautiful setting in which to unwind and recuperate from today's busy life. An hour from Dublin it is a charming stone thatched cottage, with commanding views of the local countryside. It has three double bedrooms (sleeps 6), all mod cons, and awesome views. If you are a walker, you are in paradise, right on the Wicklow Way, by the Tomnafinogue Woods, the oldest natural oak woods in Ireland, the 18 hole course of Coollattin Golf Club, fishing in the Derry River, horse riding with Tinahely Riding Club and hunting with the Shillelagh Hunt Club.

It is 40 minutes drive to natural unspoilt beaches on Ireland's east coast, with Brittas Bay being a popular and unspoiled stretch of sandy beach, beautiful at all times of the year. Arklow (28 km) is an interesting port town, and there are numerous other sandy beaches within easy reach.
Golf
Close to the famous and beautiful 18 hole course of Coollattin Golf Club.
Special interest holidays
Ideal walking and hiking area, sitting on the Wicklow Way. It is also 20 minutes from Brooklodge Hotel and Spa with a range of facilities including monthly organic food market. Close to Clara Lara Fun Park at Rathdrum (25km) for adventurous children.

Easy shopping in Tinahely for most food, drink and household goods. More specialist (fashionable) shopping in Arklow (28 km), Gorey (27 km) and Wicklow (26 km). Good restaurants at McCreddin Village (15 km). The Courthouse at Tinahely has regular arts programmes, there is traditional and contemporary music in most pubs in Tinahely. The Small Theatre at Gorey has an imaginative programme of plays.
Booking notes
Full payment is required 8 weeks prior to occupation of the property. Cancellation policy: in the event of cancellation within 8 weeks of the start of the holiday, 50% of the rental payment is non-refundable, we return 50%. The final clean and laundry is 65 euros, paid to the cleaner on departure.
