Bedroom 1

|
Set in its own farmland, this unusually well preserved and comfortable house with seaviews from every room, is amazingly secluded considering it is only an hour and a half from Dublin Airport. With oak-beamed ceilings, traditional Irish fireplaces and period furniture, it melds into a rustic seaside setting in gardens designed to provide shelter from coastal breezes, complimenting rather than competing with the gentle unspoiled south Co Wicklow scenery. It is also fully equipped with a modern customised kitchen.

Accessibility
Unfortunately, the house is not suitable for wheelchair use because of the door widths. People with mobility problems other than those using wheelchairs have stayed in the house and have managed well. If there are any issues here, we would be obliged if they could be talked through before hand. Because of its privacy, the farmhouse is particularly suitable for people with learning difficulties or autism who are most welcome. It is necessary to open and close two farm gates to gain access.
Outside
Access to the rarely used beach is easily managed by steps in the bank in front of the house. It takes the average person about 2 minutes to get to the beach from the house.
Coast/Beach
There is direct access to a secluded and hardly used beach. The reason it is under-used is because it is difficult for other people to get to. It adjoins the property and is about 2 minutes walk from the house. The half mile-long almost non-tidal beach is mixed sand and shingle. There are interesting rocks and low cliffs at each end with a very secluded cove within 500m of the house and also a walk through arch in the rock depending on the beach levels.
Golf
There are 2 18-hole golf courses within a half hour's drive. One Arklow Golf Club is a links course and the other, the exceptionally beautiful Woodenbridge Golf Club, is a parkland course. They are both open to the public.
Travel
The property is about 90 minutes from Dublin Airport and the ferry ports of Dun Laoghaire, Dublin and Rosslare. It is essential to have the use of a car.
Distances
Dublin, Wexford and Kilkenny are among the places within easy day trip distance. Arklow, the nearest town, is 4 miles away and Gorey is about 12. Avoca where Ballykissangel was filmed is 10 miles and the monasatic settlement of Glendalough and Powerscourt gardens are in easy driving range.
Further details
There is a 24/7 Tesco in Arklow among other supermarkets.
