Arranged over 2 floors the downstairs portion of the house has a living room with an open fire and dining area. This opens out on to a garden with seating area and at times superb sunsets over Galway Bay. On this floor there is also a comfortable sitting room with seating for 6 people, and a bedroom with bunks (sleeping 2 persons). The well equipped kitchen looks to the east over the Burren hills. Upstairs the double bedroom and delightfully decorated twin room exudes a warmth all of their own. Also on this floor is the bathroom, which has recently been refurbished. It is within 10 minutes walk of a blue flag beach, and is situated in the village of Fanore with its fabulous Italian restaurant, O’Donoghue’s pub and a small grocery store. Sonas holiday cottage is in the heart of the Burren, one of Ireland’s greatest natural glories. A green road walking route - The Burren Way which begins in Ballyvaughan, twists its way past the house.

Bathrooms: The bathroom which has recently been refurbished is decorated in white with chrome fittings has a WC, wash-hand basin and shower.
Kitchen: 4 ring stove, clothes dryer, freezer, fridge, grill, microwave, oven, washing machine, coffee maker, toaster, hair dryer and dish washer.
Living Rooms: The living room has an open fire and a dining area which opens on to a garden with seating area and BBQ and at times superb sunsets over Galway Bay. There is also a comfortable sitting room with seating for 6 people with TV and an open fire.
Other: In the twin bedroom there are 2 comfortable 4ft beds and a velux window which looks out over the sea. Cream bedroom furniture and an oak floor and gives an air of lightness and airiness. The downstairs room has large bunk beds which sleep 2 people.

Coast/Beach
Within 10 mins walk of a blue flag beach. There are amazing costal walks with views of the Twelve Bens mountain range and the Galway coastline. Some of the best angling in the country can be found in Fanore and along Black Head, its approaching coast.

Golf
Lahinch Golf Club has, one of the world's great classic links and is within 15 miles of the house. It has fabulous natural terrain, and a glorious setting. It also has a pair of notorious blind holes, a ruined castle and goats that roam freely on the dunes.
Doonbeg Golf Course, designed by Greg Norman, is a wonderful Links Course that plays along 1.5miles of beach and dune. The ocean is visible from the green, fairway, or tee of 16 of the 18 holes.

Golfers visiting Co. Clare in South West Ireland can test their skills on the windswept dunes of a championship links, challenge the water traps and other hazards of new courses created by some of the worlds most famous designers or just play a relaxing 18 holes on a mature parkland of tree-lined fairways.

Special interest holidays
A green road walking route - The Burren Way which begins in Ballyvaughan, twists its way through magnificent scenery past the house and on to Lahinch where it ends. Information on walking the Burren is available from the owner, and local guides are also available. Fanore and Lahinch are a paradise for surfers with the village boasting its own surf school. Horse-riding is available within minutes of the house.

Travel
Use of car is essential in order to enjoy all of the amazing attractions in the area. However, In the Summer there is a daily bus service from Galway which connects with trains to all parts of the country. Bicycle hire is available from Ballyvaughan, a beautiful village on the coast which is about 8 miles away.

Distances
The house is within 10 miles of many places of interest for example, Aillwee Cave, a showpiece of the dramatic underworld of the Burren area. A trip to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park (which is a little further in distance) will open up the whole Shannon region. From Galway and Doolin cruises are available to the Aran Islands, which are famous for their unique way of life, stunning scenery and peaceful atmosphere.
