The house, which is about four years old, is in a very small development of unique properties around a central green, all the houses have the Owenriff river running at the end of the gardens, so the entire area is virtually an island in the river. The park is a very short walk from the village where shops, restaurants and pubs can be found.

Changeover day
Saturday is changeover day - please check out early so we can fully service the house and have it homely for the new clients arriving in the afternoon.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1; is downstairs with a double bed and is ensuite with a shower and WC.
Bedroom2; with twin beds.
Bedroom 3; double ensuite - with WC and shower.
Bedroom 4; triple with a double and a single bed.
Bathrooms: Ensuite to bedroom 1 has a shower and WC.
Ensuite to bedroom 3 has a shower and WC.
Upstairs bathroom with bath, separate shower and bidet.
Downstairs bathroom with electric shower and WC.
Kitchen: Cooker with electric oven and hob, built-in fridge / freezer, microwave oven, toaster, electric kettle. The kitchen is large with dining table which can be extended to seat 8.
Utility Room: Washing maching and dryer.
Living Rooms: Sitting room with open fireplace, 3 piece blue leather suite and tables.
Separate snug with wood burning stove and brick fireplace 3 piece suite.
Other: There is a sun lounge off the kitchen wuith 3 sides of windows.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Linen and towels are available the property is cleaned weekly. A cleaning service can be provided at an additional charge daily if required.

Notes on accommodation
The property is on the Owenriff river and a short walk from the property a lake boat with direct access to Lough Corrib is available. This can be taken with the property for an additional charge or hired on a daily basis if desired. The boats gives you access to all of lough Corrib for trout fishing or just picnicking.

Outside
The property has its own parking and garden, the rear garden is bounded by the Owenriff river.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is on the coast of galway bay and is 20 miles away - 40 minutes by car. There are aslso magnificent beaches at Roundstone and Gorteen 30 miles and Glassilaun near Salruck 35 miles - all about 50 minutes by car. The closest and most unusual beach is on Inchagoill island on Lough Corrib which is 3 miles out in the lake and 30 minutes by lake boat!

Golf
Oughterard Golf Club is just 2 miles away and welcomes green fee paying guests most days. A time sheet would be the norm. There are several other good golf courses nearby including Barna, and Galway at Salthill. Other courses such as Ballyconneely, Westport and Ballinrobe and about 1 hour 10 minutes drive each.

Special interest holidays
Oughterard is a 'Mecca' for wild brown trout fisherfolk. Fly fishing is extremely popular and many anglers come back on a annual basis for the fishing. A boat is available at an additional charge with the property and it is located only a short walk from the garden. Walking is also very populat and Oughterard is located at the start / finish of the Western Way one of the long distance walk routes of Ireland.

Travel
Oughterard is 25 miles from Galway airport (45 minutes) and 75 miles from Shannon (2 hours) - car hire is available at both locations. Driving from the ports of Dunlaoghaire or Dublin will take over 4 hours.

Distances
The centre of Oughterard is 200 metres away! Galway city is 18 miles and Clifden 30 miles. The blanket bogland of Connemara starts just a few hundred metres from the western side of the village. The mountains of Connemara are 15 miles west where the landscape is intersected by salmon rivers and lakes and the coast with small beaches. Other attractions include Kylemore abbey, Cong, Killary Harbour are all within easy driving distance as are the ferries to offshore Islands of Aran and Inishboffin.

Further details
Oughterard has several supermarkets, some nice restaurants and plenty of pubs. The Gateway Hotel has a swimming pool and many local services are available in the community run Tourist Office. There is a fishing tackle shop two very nice souvenir shops a pharmacy and a bank. Three estate agents one main petrol station and two churches - Roman Catholic and Church of Ireland. Lough Corrib is the focus of the town.

Enquiries welcome and we will endeavour to answer all your questions. Booking deposit of 50% is payable on reservation. All cancellations will incur an administration fee of €40. Full patment 30 in advance of arrival. Cancellation within 7 days of arrival will incur full charge unless the booking can be filled. If 31+ days notice of cancellation deposit is refunded less administration fee. 7 - 30 days notice deposit is forfeit.
