"Tara" is a modern self catering cottage which comprises three bedrooms and sleeps up to eight people. It has breathtaking panoramic views of Mulroy Bay and the Donegal mountains. It is located in a very popular holiday region of North Donegal. It is about 1 mile from the village of Kerrykeel and 3 to 4 miles from the holiday village of Portsalon and the beautiful sandy beach at Ballymastocker.

Bed linen is included but towels are not provided. The property is fully serviced with clean linen etc and cleaned before each holiday period ie weekly. Any extra cleaning frequency would incur extra charges to be negotiated. |

Notes on accommodation
The cottage is provided with oil fired central heating which can be controlled by the holiday guests and an open fire which will burn logs, coal or turf. A supply of these products can be provided at an extra charge of 15 euro.
Accessibility
Although the property has not been constructed or adapted for people with mobility needs, wheelchair access is possible through the patio doors and there is a ground floor bedroom.
Although the bath and the shower has not been adapted they may still be suitable for people with mild problems.
Outside
Outside, the large garden which surrounds the cottage, is laid out in grass and is a suitable area where children can play. There is a small patio area with table and seats which can be easily accessed from the living room or from the garden. A small portable barbecue is available if required. There is ample off road parking for 3/4 cars.
Coast/Beach
The cottage has panoramic views over Mulroy Bay which is within walking distance from the cottage. Ballymastocker Beach is the nearest beach which is some 10 minutes away by car. The beach boasts miles of golden sand and safe swimming which is usually manned by life guards during summer months. The Mail on Sunday newspaper once voted the beach as the second most beautiful beach in the world.
Golf
Portsalon golf club is located beside the village of Portsalon and overlooks Ballymastocker bay and beach. The clubhouse which has a bar and restaurant is open to non members. It is located some 10minutes from the cottage by car.
Skiing
At Portsalon Harbour water sports equipment are available for hire.

Travel by car is essential. Belfast Port approximately 125 miles. Larne Port approximately 130 miles. George Best Belfast. City Airport approximately 125 miles. Belfast International Airport approximately 100 miles. Derry City Airport approximately 40 miles. Dublin Airport approximately 150 miles. Dublin Port approximately 150 miles.

About the owner
My wife and I live in Belfast, Northern Ireland and are both retired. We have two young grandchildren and a very friendly spaniel/dog. Along with our son and daughter in law we decided to purchase Tara Cottage in 2007 as our holiday home and also to let as self catering accommodation when not in use by ourselves. We really enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the cottage and scenic views of the area.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We decided to purchase a property near Kerrykeel, County Donegal for many reasons:- It is just over two hour's drive from our home in Belfast and from Belfast airports and sea ports. It is just over 40 miles from Londondery airport. We love the area because it is quiet, scenic, rugged and wild. Yet it is only a short car journey to beautiful sandy beaches or twenty minutes by car to the large town of Letterkenny where you will find shops and entertainment to meet all requirements.
