Owner profile

About the owner
I live in Ireland with my husband and children and our 2 dogs. We live on a farm and we both work hard. We bought our rental property because of the beauty and vitality of the area, the quality of the property and of the complex, and because we love the area and its friendly and helpful people. I too, enjoy doing my best to make sure that visitors have a good holiday. There are many things to do for all ages here, great scenery in the area and I think it is just beautiful. It gives us great pleasure to welcome visitors to our villa in Turkey (TK1833) our waterfront house in Dromod, Ireland (IR303) and our Apartment in Galway City, Ireland (IR341).

Year purchased: 2001

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought here because I couldn't believe it when I saw the house being built - so close to the river Shannon and its lakes and harbours. I had often brought my boat into Dromod harbour and the children loved to play tennis, fish and swim in the river here, and watch the ducks in the wild duck sanctuary. The village is just around the corner, so we had all we needed. Leitrim has a lake around every corner, it is quiet, wild and beautiful. Yet the towns are bustling with people of all nationalities, with fine shops, boutiques and leisure centres. People here are friendly and good humoured, and the pubs can be full of music and local 'characters'. From Leitrim you can get to Sligo, Donegal, Mayo, Longford and Northern Ireland. Check property IR341 if you want to visit Galway/Connemara.

Unique benefits of the property
You will not get such superb views from anywhere else, or the sense of peace that the water brings, with boats bobbing up and down on the gentle current. You will be at the centre of an interesting region of Ireland - the gateway to the north-west. There is a beautiful restaurant at the harbour, and 3 more in the village - all catering to a high standard. There is every amenity and activity imaginable in the local area. The owner is happy to help you with any enquiry you may have. If you are interested in visiting Galway city and the West of Ireland, Clare and Connemara, you might like to stay at our penthouse apartment in Galway City - see it on property IR341
