Toberlonagh is a luxury 3 bedroom newly refurbished farm house in County Wicklow, the stunning mountainous region south of Dublin on the East Coast, known as 'the garden of Ireland'. Set in woodland, the house is 4 minutes drive from Aughrim, named Ireland's tidiest town, 6 minutes drive from the quaint market town of Tinahely and 20 minutes from Arklow town, marina and beach. Toberlonagh is a truly, rural retreat. The name is Irish for 'three wells' and the house is at the foot of the mystical Croghan mountain, a few hundred yards from Toberpatrick, St Patrick's Holy Well. From Dublin head southbound on the M50 and onto the N11, then Arklow, Woodenbridge towards Aughrim and onto to Toberlonagh, which is signposted Toberpatrick. The house is adjacent a working farm, and quiet lanes and tracks abound in the area, it is also close to the famous Wicklow Way, a favourite with walkers. County Wicklow has an abundance of superb golf courses, there are three within 20 mins drive of the house.

About the owner
Hello - Toberlonagh is our home in Ireland. I was brought up in Ireland, have family there and have always wanted my own place there. 'A home in my homeland' my father romantically calls it. Toberlonagh was literally bought off the Internet, I spotted it, fell in love with it and my husband did the deal over the telephone. It was totally rundown and took a lot of time, patience and finance to restore to how it looks now, even better than its former glory. My husband is a businessman and farmer in England and I am a PR consultant, novelist (yet to be published) and painter (yep, those paintings in the house are mine so be patient, I will improve). The house looks directly at the Croghan Mountain anyone who visits finds it calming, restorative and a true 'getaway from it all'.
Year purchased: 2005
Why the owner chose a home in this location
Wicklow is very unspoilt and manages to combine the best of all worlds - mountains, forests, lakes, seaside and beaches together with quaint villages and bustling towns. Wicklow is the sort of place where you can do as much or as little as you want, play golf, sail, ride, fish or go to a spa, enjoy a pint in a pub or just sit and gaze at the scenery. Weather doesn't matter much either, bring something to wear if it rains, something if it's sunny, something if it's warm and something if it's cold. In Wicklow you can experience all of these climates in one day...no make that one hour. My sister and I have loved Wicklow since we were children, Toberlonagh is far enough from everywhere to be remote, yet only 5 minutes by car from one of the prettiest towns in Ireland, Aughrim. Very special.
Unique benefits of the property
Not many properties can view their own mountain from their kitchen window...well we don't own it, but it kind of owns us.
