Breathe the same fresh air that held the imagination of some of Irelands most prolific writers such as Wilde, Yeats, and Synge, where former neighbour Walter Macken penned his celebrated novel 'Quench the Moon'. A 2 bedroom Cottage, beside the main residence, set on 3 acres of beautiful mature gardens set back from the road by an avenue of hedgerows of rhododendrons with 100 year old pine trees.

Friday is change over day. Property is rented weekly, changeover day can be flexible, arrival after 4pm, departure time 10.30am.

Bedrooms: There are 2 large airy double bedrooms with queen style double beds, sleeps two or four. Perhaps 5 as there is also a Futon bed in the large bedroom on the first floor.
Bathrooms: There is a shower room on the ground floor with shower, wc, and wash hand basin.
Kitchen: This self-catering cottage has a galley type kitchen integrated into the Dining living room which includes a 2 hob electric cooker with small oven, under unit fridge, microwave, sink and all the usual kitchen utensil's toaster, kettle etc.
Utility Room: There is a very reasonable priced launderette in the Village with same day service
Living Rooms: Includes an open cosy log and turf fire TV,DVD with lots of complementry films, radio, and lots of Books to immerse oneself in the tranquility of "Yeats Country".

There are fluffy white towels and Egyptian type cotton bed linen supplied, the property is continually cleaned to a very high standard.

Outside
With close proximity Lough Corrib & Oughterard Village you can sample the vibrant atmosphere of its pubs with Irish music and fine restaurants in a rarified setting, or simply while away the time amongst the 3 acres of wonderful private mature gardens, for sole use by guests, with garden furniture etc for complete and total relaxation. There are many walks along the lake, the 'Western Way' walk, passes your door on its way to the famous 'Hill of Doon' and continues across the landscape of beautiful Connemara towards Maam Cross, or you may take a leisurely drive into the wilds of Connemara, to the beautiful villages of Clifden, Cong, Roundstone, and the beautiful Lough Innagh Valley and Maam Valley.

Coast/Beach
Coast is 25 minutes drive, there are a number of beaches and coves along the way, allow approx 25-30 minutes.

Golf
Oughterard Golf Club 18 holes (10 minutes away) Galway Golf Club 18 holes (25 minutes away) The famous Ballyconneely links course 18 holes(30 minutes approx).

Special interest holidays
There is a Salmon spawning river that runs ajacent to the Property. As we are beside Lough Corrib, one of the most famous fresh water Salmon and trout fishing lakes in Europe with its 365 Islands. Fishing is available, boats and gilly's may be hired locally on request (advisable to book). Or you may want to visit some of the Islands, ferry's are available at certain times throughout the summer months.

Travel
Shannon airport about 125km. Galway airport about 25 minutes drive. Knock airport about 1 hour and a half drive. Car is essential and recommended.

Distances
Oughterard village and all its charms approx 3 minute drive. The beautiful medieval city of Galway 25 minutes. Clifden 40 minutes approx. places of interest Kylemore Abbey, Cong Castle. Connnamara walks and drives.

There are, an abundance of restaurants, pubs with music and food on your door step in Oughterard Village. All relevant information is available here and Oughterard Tourist office.

Booking notes
At time of booking a non refundable deposit of 200 euro's is required, balance is payable 6 weeks in advance.
