The Old Farmhouse is located close to our family run dairy farm in the heart of Irish countryside, while Green Meadows is less than a mile away. This accommodation is suitable for people seeking peace and tranquillity but also families with children who are welcome to take part in the milking of the cows or collect the breakfast eggs. Within a 10 mile radius you can drive through the heart of the Burren to Ailwee Cave follow the coast road via Fanore beach to the fishing village of Doolin, famous for its traditional Irish music sessions and day trips to the Aran Islands. Just on south are the Cliffs of Moher and a couple of miles further on is Lahinch with its beautiful beach and championship golf course. You can fish at nearby Lickeen Lake and in Corofin at its many lakes. In the evenings you can enjoy traditional music and set dancing in Kilfenora. On arrival you are welcomed with home baking and you are always welcome to visit our home for a cup of tea and chat.

Changeover day
Changeover days are Saturdays, however we are willing to accept alternative days and short stays in the off season periods.
Notes on accommodation
Green Meadows cottage is mostly carpeted with the exception of the kitchen / dining room. It is all ground floor accommodation. The Old Farmhouse is situated close to the farm yard, it has timber flooring throughout except for the kitchen /dining room. There in one double room upstairs. Both cottages have oil fired central heating. We provide our guest with a bag of turf (peat) on arrival.
Outside
Green Meadows has its own green area around the back and has a wooden bench. The Old Farmhouse has a green area to the front and has a wooden bench. Both cottages are on private ground and have good parking areas. Both cottages are surrounded by fields and you are guaranteed privacy peace and quiet.
Coast/Beach
Lahinch beach is approx 15-20 mins drive by car. Seaworld is located here and there is also an indoor swimming pool. Fanore beach is approx 30 mins drive by car.
Golf
Lahinch has a championship 18 hole golf course and also has the castle course. It is approx 15 to 20 mins drive.
Travel
Shannon airport is approx 25 miles and is about 1 hour drive. Dublin arport and Ferryport is approx 4 hours drive. Rosslare ferryport is approx 4.5 - 5 hours drive.
Distances
Kilfenora village is 2.5 miles. It is the gateway to the Burren and the Burren Centre will contribute greatly to your understanding of the area. Kilfenora was once known as the city of the crosses and these crosses can be seen in and around the Cathedral graveyard. Our accommodation is an ideal location for touring. The Cliffs of Moher, Ailwee Caves, Poulnabrone Dolmen, Dooling Cave, Aran Islands Ferries are within 30 mins drive.
Further details
In Kilfenora there are 2 grocery shops and in Ennistymon approx 10 mins. drive you will find a large supermarket and a mini market also. There is a good variety of restaurants from Kilfenora to Ennistymon, Lahinch, Liscannor, Doolin, Lisdoonvarna, Ballyvaughan and Corofin. There are two main banks located in Ennistymon and also ATM facilities.

Bookings can be made through the owners Martin and Marian Barry by email or phone call. We charge 20% deposit at time of booking and the balance to be paid four weeks before arrival. Payment in Euro please.
