At the head of Dunmanus Bay you are at the gateway to the spectacular Mizen and Sheeps Head Peninsulars. There are options for enjoyable activities locally, with the Sheeps Head walking and cycle routes (cycle hire available), the famous West Cork Garden Trail. Take a boat trip from Schull to Cape Clear Island. Watch the seals and the whales. While Bantry 6 miles away, offers golf, cinema and the delightful Bantry House; heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room at the West Lodge Hotel. Visit the Italian Gardens and the Bamboo Park at Glengarriff. Try your hand at fishing. Going further afield there is the wonderful Fota Wild Life Park at Cork or drive into Kerry and see the Killarney Lakes.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds and euros. 15% reduction on any 2 week let.
A mid season short break is £40 (50 euros) per night plus £50 (60 euros)
E.g. A 3 night mid season break would cost - 3 x £40 + £50 = £170 (3 x 50 euros + 60 euros = 210 euros). A low season short break is £30 (40 euros) per night plus £50 (60 euros). E.g. A 3 night low season break would cost - 3 x £30 + £50 = £140. (3 x 40 euros + 60 euros = 180 euros).
Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday. However November - February this is flexible. Arrival from 3pm departure by 10am to facilitate cleaning.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | The very large bedroom has a luxurious 6ft zip and link bed (which can be 2 full sized singles on request) with its wonderful memory foam mattress. On the landing is a full size single bed. A Z-bed is also available if required. Electric blankets. |
| Bathrooms: | Relax in the invigorating shower in chlorine free water from our own deep bore well. Both the shower and toilet are situated on the ground floor. Towels are provided. |
| Kitchen: | Fully equipped kitchen with its cooker and hob, microwave, fridge and washer/dryer. |
| Living Rooms: | Large living/dining/kitchen area. Satellite TV, video, DVD player and stereo/CD player. A good selection of DVDs, CDs and videos are available. |

Notes on accommodation
Two travel cots, highchair and stair gate available on request. Pets are welcome at the cottage, however they must NOT be left unattended at any time. There is a strict no smoking policy.
We have a Tom Tom satellite navigation available for hire to help you find those away-from-it-all places. If you are feeling particularly energetic we have two lightweight full suspension bikes for hire on a daily basis.

Accessibility
The stairs are quite steep and so not really suitable for people with mobility problems.
Outside
The cottage has its own small private courtyard with table and chairs where you can sit and enjoy the morning sun. There is a large masonry BBQ for your use by the pond, with table and chairs, where you can enjoy the evening sun and witness the glorious sunsets.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is at Ahakista, about four miles away. However there are two better sandy beaches at Tormoor, about 8 miles away and a truly magnificent beach at Barley Cove which is about 15 miles away. An absolute must!
Golf
There is a championship course at Bantry, about 5 miles away. Other 18 hole courses are at Bandon (30 miles), Skibbereen (20 miles) and Kenmare (30 miles) and 9 hole courses at Glengarriff (18 miles) and Clonakilty (30 miles).
Travel
Cork and Kerry airports are about 1.5 hours away and are well served by budget airlines. Rosslare Ferry Port is about 4 hours away and Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Ports about 4.5 hours. Car hire is essential

Durrus 0.5 miles. Bantry 6 miles. Cork City 55 miles.
Further details
There is an excellent grocery store in Durrus village. Greater variety of shops and supermarkets can be found in Bantry and Skibbereen. The nearest banks and cash dispensers can be found in Bantry. There are four pubs in Durrus, three of which serve food and two award-winning restaurants - Blairs Cove and The Good Things Cafe (limited opening). Bantry has a wider selection of restaurants.
