Owner profile
About the owner
The cottage was bought by Tighe and Joy Taylor in 1978 from Alannah Bent a well known local artist. Since then it has been tastefully and simply enlarged and has been used for wonderful family holidays by the next 3 generations. Bookings are made through Tighe and Joy's daughter, Sandi Malpas.
Year purchased: 1970's
Why the owner chose a home in this location
Having spent many family holidays in the area when the children were small and loved the wildness and the amazing white beaches, Tighe and Joy looked for something to buy that was accessible from Dublin and would suit both them on their own and provide a wonderful place for children and grandchildren to spend their holidays. It was very important to them to be close to the sea and certainly it would be difficult to find anywhere else quite as close as this!
Unique benefits of the property
Picnics on beaches, barbecues in the setting sun, spuddling about in the estuary, watching the seals on the rocks in front of the cottage and a great variety of sea birds. Pony trekking, golf and cycling are easily accessed. All within easy reach of Clifden and Roundston for pub lunches if the weather is less clement!
