Durrus is equidistant to many coastal towns-Schull Crookhaven, Bantry and Baltimore to name but a few. It is just a 100 minute drive from Cork airport and also an 100 minute drive to Kinsale. The name of the park is Sruth. Mhuileann, meaning Mill Stream as the houses are opposite a stream which is well fenced off, truly a tranquil and convenient setting. There is a pretty green area opposite the house where children are also safe to play. The beautiful sandy of Barley Cove is a 20 minute drive and worth a visit. There are many walks in the area, which is loved by hill walkers.

Coast/Beach
From Schull or Baltimore, you can take a boat for the islands. Visit Sherkin, which has 3 sandy beaches and where you can rent bikes for the day, or the equally beautiful Cape Clear In West Cork, there are sailing regattas, and diving, sail-boarding and deep sea fishing are all easy to organize. The magnificent beach of Barley Cove at Goleen is nearby and the lively sailing town of Crookhaven.
Golf
Bantry Bay features an 18 hole Championship golf course, which is open year round. It is situated in a very scenic setting with 14 holes overlooking the bay. There are lovely sea views to the Islands and the Beara mountains.
Also nearby is the Skibbereen and West Carbery Golf Club. Located 30km from Durrus village the 18 hole, 5,967 yard course is set against the backdrop of the internationally known Lough Hyne and the beautiful village of Baltimore and its surrounding islands.
There are also renowned Golf courses in nearby Clonakilty and in Killarney and Kinsale (approx 90 and 100km to each) so there is plenty of choice for golfers.

West Cork Garden trail. Durrus is home to some of the spectacular gardens participating in the West Cork garden trail Carraig Abhainn Gardens, Durrus. A large 2 acre garden in a woodland setting, giving a wonderful air of peace and serenity, enhanced by a river with natural waterfalls – which can be quite spectacular! Kilravock Gardens, Durrus.
Overlooking Dunmanus Bay this 2 acre garden is home to a wide variety of beautiful plants. Hill walking. The rugged Beara Peninsula is completely encircled by the Beara Way, which offers a combination of mountain and coastal scenery. Much loved by walkers. Details of walks in rental accommodation.
Contemporary cooking is the magnet that draws those in the know to Carmel Somers’ simple little café-restaurant in Durrus village. Well-placed to make the most of fine West Cork produce, she also sells some specialist foods from Ireland and abroad. The good things cafe also offers cookery classes throughout the year.

Cork airport in approx 100km from Durrus. This airport is served by Ryanair, Bmibaby, Aer Lingus and British Airways to mention a few. Car hire is considered essential and available from airport. Car ferry - arrival into Rosslare, Co.Wexford / Ringaskiddy and Co.Cork.
