A magnificently restored Portuguese house with high ceilings and a spacious verendah, with a huge tropical garden with a swimming pool. Also in the grounds is The Bungalow built in the traditional Portuguese style. Maid service and breakfast included. A relaxed way of life awaits you. Shops nearby in this lovely village. Siolim village is surrounded by coconut groves and sunset coves, ideal for biking. Only 15mins drive south to the busy shopping areas of Calangute, and 15mins north to the pristine Ashwem and Morjim beaches. Honeymoon couples, why not have the whole house to yourselves!

Prices based on 6 people for the Main House and 2 people for The Bungalow. There will be a surcharge for extra guests.

Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible, departure times are midday.

1 shower, wc, with running solar powered hot rain water.

Large kitchen, which includes, cooker, hob, fridge freezer, microwave.
Lounge: Marble floors, Sattelite TV, DVD, Surround system.
Dining Room: Marble floors, chandelier, and a table that sits up to 10.
Hall: large hall with high ceilings and marble floors.
Towels and linen are included and are changed every 3 days. Maid service is included, so the property is cleaned daily.
Last but not least, an "invertor" which is basically a very handy power supply back up, for the occasional power cut.

The Bungalow has a spacious living room with Satellite T.V, one large bedroom, a fully fitted kitchen,which includes a hob, microwave and a large fridge freezer. A large shower/WC area with hot rainwater. The Bungalow also has its private magical garden, and will have use of our new pool.

 

Notes on accommodation
There is Air Conditioning in all the bedrooms.Please note, there will be an extra charge if AC is to be used. Laundry service for personal items can be arranged, as can bike hire, or cots for children. There is a peacefull private garden as well as the main one. A large invertor (see above) is also provided.

Accessibility
The Bungalow has a sloped entrance, suitable for wheelchair users.

Outside
Our beautiful garden and swimming pool is becoming famous, it is a large tropical walled private garden including 7 mango, 18 coconut trees, lemongrass and other herbs and spices. No chemicals are used at all. Ideal for birdlovers. Barbecue area and large patio with outdoor furniture. The garden has many seating areas, ideal for relaxing. We have 2 dogs and 3 cats who are part of the household, but spend most of their time outdoors. The Bungalow has its own private garden, as well as benefiting from the main one.

Coast/Beach
Morjim beach, a pristine turtle nesting site is approx 5km away, 15 mins by bike or car. Vagator beach approx 5km away.

Special interest holidays
We are keen nature lovers and can help organise wildlife tours and amazing trekking through the old teak forests in Karnataka or Kerala.
On the other end of the spectrum, "designer shopping days" be it for furniture or clothes, can also be arranged by Pierre who has become an expert on Panjim.

Travel
Approx 40km North from Dabolim Airport, airport pick up can be arranged. Once here, car or bike hire recommended, but not essential, local taxis readily available and not expensive.
By rail, Tivim is the nearest station, about 20km away.

Distances
Shops walking distance, Main Cathedral 1km away. The picturesque river and paddy fields, and sunset coves are all within walking distance.
5kms away, is also the "wild west" village of Chapora, a contrast with Siolim, with many noisy bars and eateries, including excellent Pizzas and Greek kebabs.

Further details
Siolim is famed for its beautiful local Hindu and Christian Festivals, which seem to average once a week!. However, it can be a sleepy town, with 2 small restaurants. Evening meals can be arranged for. Please note, its not a touristy town, the local temple and dogs can occasionally be noisy at nightimes.

About the owner
My business partner Pierre and I, Atul, moved over from the UK four years ago, for the weather,the people, and to be with nature. So far no regrets. We lovingly restored this beautiful house and garden, and built an additional Bungalow in the grounds. I am told I am a good cook, so we offer cookery demonstrations after which the end results are consumed! I also provide expert wildlife tour advice, since I am a keen environmentalist. Pierre on the other hand offers guided tours of "Shopping in Panjim", a big hit with the ladies. We have 3 friendly staff on our team, not to forget 3 friendly dogs and 2 cats!
