The cottage is situated at the back of the villa, it is detached. Bedroom 1 with double bed. Hairdryer and safe available. Bedroom 2 with twin beds. Lounge / dining area with open views. Kitchen with stove, fridge etc. The bathroom has a shower with hot water. Separate WC. C/D player & Cable T.V The property is newly furnished and well maintained. There are mosquito nets on all windows. |

Notes on accommodation
There are electric ceiling fans in all rooms separate to the lighting system (ie you can use them at night!). Laundry facilities are available at very low cost (includes collection, washing and ironing). Your ‘House Boy’, will clean the villa, change the sheets and towels every other day. All bedding and towels are provided. Free starter food parcel is provided on arrival.

Sorry, really not suitable for those with mobility problems.
Outside
Outside there are patio areas with garden furniture and umbrella.
Coast/Beach
Lighthouse beach is beautifully set with palm trees dotted on the headlands, with lots of other beaches around (these are much quieter), an array of restaurants, gift and antiques shops, and tailors where your order is put in the morning and you are sure to have it made up and ready-to-wear by the afternoon! There are even shoemakers, where you can have a pair of handmade shoes for less than £5! This is approximately 10 minutes walk from both properties.
Golf
There is a course in Trivandrum approximately 20 minutes drive away.

We have yoga lessons 3 times a week on our roof, with a fully experienced teacher, we cater for beginners & the more advanced. It is also a haven for bird watchers.

Travel
Trivandrum international airport is only 30 minutes away from Kovalam by car, and we can arrange a pickup for you at the airport! You must have a visa before departure. An application form can be obtained from The High Commission of India, India House, Aldwych, London WC2B 4NA. Local taxis and rickshaws are very cheap and in abundance. There is a very good bus service to trivandrum where there is a mainline railway station.

Every thing you could possibly want is on your door step, the main city (Trivandrum) is about 30 minutes away by local transport.

There are all the facilities you require within 5 minutes walk including a supermarket and 3 banks with ATM. There is also a post office. Please see our website for further details.
Booking notes
We recommend that flight availability be ascertained first, before you book. When this is done, we will require a deposit of 50% of the cost. The balance of the full amount is to be paid 2 months before your departure. If your booking is made 2 months or less before departure, you will need to pay the total cost. At the time of booking please note; your deposit is non refundable. Please ensure you take out insurance for your stay with us as we cannot be held responsible for any damage caused.

About the owner
Den and myself (Angie), live on the Kent coast, near Broadstairs, with our two cats, we have always loved our holidays,and been to many interesting locations round the globe, 19years ago we went on a package holiday to Goa India, the following year we went to the real India -Kerala-Kovalam, within 3 days of our holiday we had fallen in love with the resort,and the people, every year we returned (the only destination we ever went back to) each time we stayed a bit longer, the roots had grown from our feet, 8 years ago we saw the villa of our dreams ,it was designed into two appartments, and also had a cottage at the rear, we had the chance to buy, so we blew caution to the wind and went full steam for it, we have refurbished it to very high standards, and are thrilled at the results.

We bought "Alarek" because of its location it's near every thing you could want, with-out any one/thing being ontop at the same time, and also being in a no through road was a bonus, its also very private at the same time.
