These traditional Kerala style properties ‘Coconut Palms’ and 'Bamboo villa' face the Arabian sea and overlooks the backwater to the rear. It has sea view from the bedroom/balcony. It has a large and lovely walled garden surrounded by coconut trees and hammock. Secure village location amongst very friendly local people. The villas have a unique position, watch the sunset and sunrise from your very own balcony. This is truly one of the most beautiful sandy beach in Kerala, watch the fishermen bring in their daily catch, it is very calm and ideal for swimming and you can spot Dolphins. Cherai is a typical Kerala village and is well known for a variety of locally caught fresh sea food. Village shop and restaurants are within walking distance. Cochin international airport is 35 mins away. You can hire bikes/car/boat, also overnight trip on a house boat and trips to the wild life sanctuary, spice plantations, elephant rides are recommended (transport can be arranged for sightseeing).

Notes on accommodation
Both properties enjoy a lovely sea breeze and has adjustable ceiling fans fitted throughout the property. The main bedroom in Kerala Style Villa has air-conditioning and sea facing balcony with cane chairs and coffee table. The bedroom in Bamboo Villa has air-conditioning with backwater view and the front veranda with sea view.
Outside
Large walled lovely garden, amongst coconut trees and hammocks/swing and has a separate sitting area with table/chairs and umbrella.
Coast/Beach
Both the villas are in a unique position, the sandy beach is virtually on the doorstep. Spot Dolphins from your very own balcony. You can choose either to enjoy swimming or sunbathing on this peaceful and calm beach, (chairs available), or you can choose to hire a boat and enjoy a pleasant and tranquil trip through the winding scenic backwaters.

Yoga classes and Ayurvedic treatment are available nearby. Car/driver available for sightseeing.
Travel
Cochin international airport is 20km away, it takes 35 mins approx. Airport transfers can be arranged. Car/Scooter are available for sightseeing/shopping etc, charges payable locally.
Distances
Have a relaxing Ayurvedic massage at the nearby Ayurvedic centre, manned by experienced masseurs. There are also cafes on Cherai beach road, where you can taste the best sea food and traditional Kerala food at a very reasonable rate of £2 per head approx. You can also hire a Scooter/bike to get a glimpse of a typical Kerala village, visit the harbour to buy some fresh catch of the day. You can also visit the beautiful local temples and churches.
Further details
ATMs, pharmacy, supermarket, post office, banks and other local shops are about 3km away at the nearby Cherai town. Car with driver and scooter available, charges payable locally.
Cochin city is 30kms away, there you may be interested in visiting the following places: the Chinese fishing nets - watch the fishermen bring in their catch. Here you can buy fresh sea food and have them cooked for you to your liking. There are fabulous shops at Fort Cochin and Ernakulam.
Jewtown - the synagogue dates back to the 17th century, here there are numerous antique shops selling Indian handicrafts/arts and curios, it is one of the most spectacular sights in the whole region of Kerala and is certainly worth a visit.
St Francis Church - The only Protestant church in the southern Indian region was built in 1510 by the Portuguese.
Willingdon Island - It is a beautiful man made island.
Vypeen and Gundu islands - offer tourists the chance for a day’s outing with daily ferry shuttles from Fort Cochin. Vypeen Island is home to the port’s main lighthouse.
A short trip across the tiny Gundu island offers a glimpse at the production process of the coir factory, where coconut fibre is utilised in the production of doormats. Palliport fort - This is a ruin dating back to the 16th century.
Overnight trips on the houseboat, trips to the Periyar wild life Sanctuary, Munnar spice plantations and Elephant rides are very popular.Accomodation at Munnar and houseboat in Alleppy can be arranged. Car/driver available for any trips/sightseeing.
Alternatively you might want to just relax on the beach or try out some traditional Kerala food on Cherai beach road, there are some excellent cafes beer parlours and restaurants, they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner at a very reasonable price.
Boats are also available for hire.

The service and help from the owner of the villa was top class. The villa was exactly as described and more, very clean, perfect position, and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable, the decor was great. The caretaker who is on hand 24/7 was superb in his manner.Most memorable moments was sitting on the balcony, over looking the sea, watching the beautiful sunsets. Very relaxing holiday, to get away from it all this is the place to be. Only drawback was had to come home! - Horton.
