A large water storage tank and well supplement erratic local water supply.
There is an Indian style gas cooker ... hot plates with gas cylinder ...
There is a refrigerator, and microwave.
The interior has very high ceilings all the way to the roof tiles ... with the fans the house is pleasant to live in ... with the doors and windows open ... the cross breeze through the house keeps it cool.
“rustic”, “village atmosphere”, “comfortable but not luxury”, “good for people who want to experience real, rather than 5 star hotel, Goan life”... wonderful place for people who understand Goa and who are not always insisting on a perfect, pampered existence.

Accessibility
Four steps up to the spacous bungalow a wheelchair has access to the whole house and access to the balcony from most rooms.

Coast/Beach
Approx. 10-15 min walk to a beautiful beach.
Travel
Dabolim Airport. 20min car ride.
Distances
There are several villagers (including the neighbour) with taxis (rates are nominal compared to UK). 12 mins to an excellent restaurant (Martins Corner). There are also lunch and dining facilities at the beach shacks during the tourist season for freshly prepared foods .. fish - catch of the day etc. Trips to the north side of Goa cost about £7-£8 (4 passengers) and takes about 1 hr. (Equivalent trip in the UK Mini Cab approx £40). The local buses cost considerably less.

The house is located in a typical Goan village! There are no fancy amenities (cinemas, shopping malls, swimming pools, golf courses etc). The home setting is generally very peaceful ... typicaly Goan village life ...village grocery store across the road .... Nothing much happens....
The infrastructure in the third world leaves a lot to be desired. The streets are generally dusty and dirty ... there are rarely any subdivisions with beautiful mansions, lush manicured lawns and spotlessly clean streets and sidewalks like in the west.
Our home is comfortable and spacious, and the amenities are far superior to most homes in Goa; please note that it does not compare to a 5 star hotel..... or you will be disappointed.
Kindly note that we respect all religions and all points of views ...we are Catholic and have religious icons displayed prominently in the house.
Booking notes
A deposit of £50 confirms booking. A £50 refundable damage deposit is required. Payment in full is required two weeks before occupying property. Refunds for "non occupancy" at owners discretion - for valid reasons only. Damage Deposit refunded after verification of no damage to property, and inventory in place.
Guest comments
The starter pack/food package was excellent and our favourite Restaurant was on the road at the turn off to the Kenilworth Hotel (cannot remember name)
The large bedroom with the five foot bed is lovely.
The whole villa is spacious and delightful with beautifully carved furniture. Please contact me if you want you know any more.

I am writing to you to inform you that we are now back in London . We enjoyed our stay at your house in Utorda. You have succeeded in maintaining a lovely house in Goa and I must say I admire how you are able to do this from afar. It is really good to know that you are preserving the Goan heritage.
