Nice large 90m2 modern apartment in classic building with a lovely courtyard. 80m from the main terrace restaurant and bar zone of Budapest, Raday utca (street). 5 minutes walk from the National Museum of Hungary and the stunning Applied Arts Museum building. 600m walk to the famous Gellert Baths (indoor and outdoor pools). 250m from main city food and souvenir market. Just 200m from the Danube and tram line 2, a great tram ride along beside the river seeing the sights. Apartment is nicely decorated and furnished, furniture new in 2007. 3.6m high ceilings. Large 25m2 lounge.
Apartment has the benefit in the summer of through ventilation since it has windows to the street and also to the courtyard (only 1/4 of apartments have this).

Can be any day. If arrive and depart on a Saturday in summer then a lower price may be possible.

| Living Rooms: | Lounge/bedroom. Large 25m2 room with 2 large double windows to the street. Has cable TV with international channels and DVD player. The large 4 seater sofa is also a double sofabed (140cm x 200cm mattress). The beds are located on a high quality platform. |
| Other: | Bedroom 2 is a large room of 17m2, and has a large mirror wardrobe with slide out real wooden drawers. Bedroom 1 has the same type of mirror wardrobe and also a chest of drawers (room 1 also has large chest of drawers and a small wardrobe). |

Use of good quality clean towels and bedlinen are included in the price. The apartment is cleaned after a group leaves to make it ready for the next group, there is no cleaning during your stay. |
Notes on accommodation
The apartment has full gas central heating with double radiators in every room and a large 22kW gas boiler. Note: The maximum number of people allowed for the apartment depends on the details for the group. No stag/hen groups. The apartment is popular with families and with large groups of friends.

Accessibility
Due to the stairs it is not suitable for people with wheelchairs.
Outside
You can take a small table and chairs and sit outside on the large balcony of the building near the entrance door to the apartment; belongs to the building, not private, being careful not to annoy any neighbours with noise. In the middle of the day you can sit in the sun on this balcony, there is normally some birdsong from blackbirds (except in the winter). Budapest is surprisingly green, a lot of trees inside building courtyards, and has a lot of birdsong, surprising for the centre of a capital city. Internet, a cafe/bar by the market, has 1 PC with free internet or 24 hour internet place at south end of Raday Utca at 20 Ferenc Korut. Many good restaurants close by, like Soul Cafe Retaurant (100m), Leroy, Trattoria, Erlin, Caramia, Vörös. The street Raday Utca (80m away) has the most restaurants/bars of Budapest in one area. Most have terraces outside so it is a great area for eating and drinking outside in the warm evening weather.
The Buddha-beach nightclub is 250 metres away.
Coast/Beach
The biggest lake is Lake Balaton which is about 1.5 hours away by car or train. There is another lake that is closer, Lake Velice, about an hour I think, very shallow.
Travel
Budapest airport is about 15km away. A taxi from the airport costs fixed price of 21 Euros (May 2008). For 5 or 6 people, 25 euros. Or reserving a minibus is in an option. Or use public transport and get off the blue metro line at Kelvin Ter which is only 4 minutes walk away.
Distances
All the main attractions of Budapest are easy to get to; you can walk to many attractions. National Museum, Applied Arts Museum, city market hall, Gellert Baths, Liberation Bridge. Also the tram line 2 along the bank of the Danube is an especially nice trip, there is a stop close to the apartment, 150m away. This tram, goes past the Parliament building and also to Margarit Island, a nice place to visit in the summer. The tram lines 4 and 6 of the Grand Boulevard are also close by.
Further details
The apartment is 80m from the Raday Utca Street which is the biggest terrace restaurant/bar/cafe area of the city. The other shops are mainly galleries and similar. Raday street has the advantage that a high % of the street is operating at night whereas in Vatci Utca many of the shops are closed at night.... so I think the atmosphere is better in Raday utca.
Close to National Museum of Hungary (400 metres), Liberation Bridge (400metres), Vatci Utca (400m), Gellert Baths 600/700m), the main City Market (250m) and Applied Arts Museum/Exhibitions (300m).
The apartment is about 250 metres from the excellent main city fresh food market, a "must visit" for most tourists; it also has hot food and souvenir stalls upstairs.On Saturdays it may have events like traditional dancing.
In the Raday utca area many of the bars/restaurants provide live music and there are 2 live music venues and the live entertainment boat U38 can be walked to at the next bridge to the south. The Buddha Beach venue is approx 250 metres away. The large student disco Schoolclub is about 200m away.
1 large supermarket is about 150 metres away, including open on Sundays.
Booking notes
For most groups it is possible to reserve using a work e-mail address and not need to make an advance payment. At arrival the total rent and the ‘during rental deposit’ need to be paid. Deposit for during the rental. Normally 100 Euros cash, or in pounds or US dollars or other currency. For young groups or during any festivals the deposit may be higher.
