At the crossroads of Europe, Africa and Asia, the United Arab Emirates
sits in the Middle East towards the eastern fringes of the Arab world.
Covering an area of the Arabian Peninsular of approximately 83,600 sq kms,
the United Arab Emirates has a long coastline, a majority of which looks out
across the Persian Gulf to the north, but also a shorter stretch overlooks
the Gulf of Oman to the east. With Saudi Arabia neighbouring its southern
and western borders, Qatar to the north and Oman to the east, the United
Arab Emirates is a federation divided into seven states, or emirates, the
largest of which is Abu Dhabi - home of the capital city of the United Arab
Emirates - and Dubai, both being hailed as dynamic metropolitan enclaves
renowned for their social opulence, cultural wealth and global importance in
business and economy. The topography of the United Arab Emirates is largely
flat consisting of vast expanses of barren, sandy desert, although fertile
plains, oases and mountains are significant geographical features that break
up this arid landscape, as well as the several hundred kilometres of
coastline where the highest concentration of the national population can be
found and where most visitors to the country can find the very best of
villas and apartments in the United Arab Emirates.
With a climate that ranges from hot to even hotter, and a sun that shines
all year round, the United Arab Emirates is the ideal holiday destination
for many people seeking to escape their gloomy, cold winter weather -
October through to March offering more moderate temperatures to anyone not
used to functioning in the searing heat, thereby removing the need to
constantly seek refuge in the nearest air-conditioned environment! But with
such a choice of outstanding beaches to be found all along the coastline,
the perfect antidote to too much sun can be found where the tranquil waters
of the Persian Gulf gently lap the shores of the United Arab Emirates
providing the ideal conditions for any type of water sport, including
fishing, which is still considered an important natural resource that, along
with oil and gas, forms part of the mainstay of industry and commerce in the
Emirates.
In a destination where the ancient customs and traditional values of the
East exist happily alongside the modern advancements and contemporary
attitudes of the West, a
villa in Dubai provides an undoubtedly luxurious base from where you can
discover a standard of living and opportunities for leisure and relaxation
that make this city at least comparable to, if not hard to beat, by any
other in the Arab or Western world. From horse racing and golf to health
spas and shopping, (and countless other things in between!) Dubai holds the
promise of a dream holiday that can be realised by anyone. A veritable
melting pot of race and culture, Dubai is a place chosen by many people
seeking a vacation rental in the United Arab Emirates for its cosmopolitan
ambience and liberal warmth and generosity - that, and the fact that
whatever you want to do in the Emirates, you can do it in ultimate style!
