Payment for your advertisement
After entering a few basic details about your property you will be asked to choose your method of payment (credit/debit card or cheque).
Entering the text for your advertisement
After the payment process you will be returned to your Advertisement Manager. To complete the description of your advertisement, click on the link "Update description".
Our advertisements use standard headings to describe a property and the following guidelines will help you prepare the text for your advertisement.
Headline Description 1
eg. Character Cottage in Quiet Location
Headline Description 2
(optional) eg. Close to Beach
Do not include the number of bedrooms or sleeping capacity in the headline descriptions as this is covered further down on the input form.
Opening Paragraph
A maximum of 1000 characters giving a brief overall description of your property and its position.
Accommodation
When describing the rooms, please give full details of the types of bedroom(double, twin, single), bathrooms, kitchen equipment (hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, etc.). If extra accommodation is provided in the way of sofa beds in the lounge, please include this.
Notes on Accommodation
Use this section to include any further information about the accommodation, eg. heating, air-conditioning, suitability for children, no smoking, pets allowed/not allowed, etc.
For multiple unit properties, please include details of cleaning, maid service, linen and towel changes, etc. (the individual property input form has a special section for this information).
Accessibility
Please use this section for helping people with mobility problems to decide whether your property may be suitable.
If your property has been specially constructed or adapted for wheelchair users, please provide full details. Please note that only properties which have been specially constructed or adapted will be included in our Wheelchair Friendly list page (please supply full information such as door widths, hall widths, wheel-in showers, bathroom facilities, ramps, etc.).
Outside
Include gardens, patios, barbecue, outdoor furniture, etc. If you have a swimming pool, please include the size if possible and say if it can be heated in the cooler months.
Activities - Golf/Skiing/Special Interest
If your property is close to golf or skiing facilities, or you offer special activity holidays at your premises (eg. art or cookery courses) you will be able to include full details here.
Coast/Beach
Give distances to coast or beaches if applicable. You can also include a description of the local beaches here.
Travel
Include the name and distance of nearest airport or (if appropriate) the driving distances from channel ports, etc. It is also useful to let people know if car hire (or use of a car) is essential or recommended.
Distances
This section is useful for giving distances to nearest villages, towns, places of interest.
Further Details
Any other additional information which you think may be of help or interest, eg. details of local shops and restaurants, further information about places of interest or leisure activities.
Changeover Day
Give your preferred day for arrivals and departures.
House Swap
If you are interested in a house swap for your next holiday, say so here. This is an option that people can search on via our Advanced Search page.
Guest Comments
Use this section to provide any testimonials or feedback that you have received from your guests. We suggest a maximum of 3 guest comments.
To TopPrices
After completing the description of your advertisement you will be returned to your Advertisement Manager. Click on "Update price table". You will then be able to input your rental prices into a simple price table. Guidance for this is given on the Price Table Form.
Underneath the price table there is a space for Price Notes, where you can give extra detail, eg. prices include gas and electricity, discount for long winter lets, pool heating, etc..
Special Offers
From time to time you may want to reduce the price of a week or two, perhaps if you have a cancellation. You can add a promotional offer by selecting "Purchase a special offer promotion" within the "Edit Property Details" section on the Admin Manager. This will include your property in results when visitors search for special offers. Special offers cost £19 for a two week promotion.
Photos
The Internet is a very visual medium and, along with reasonable prices, good photographs can make all the difference to the number of enquiries and bookings you receive. Please choose photographs that are as sharp and bright as possible and remember that a blue sky is more inviting than a grey one. Balconies and terraces with tables, chairs, sun loungers and umbrellas will look irresistible!
We prefer photographs to be uploaded to us directly from your computer, using our "upload photograph" facility. This is done in the same way as attaching your photos to an e-mail. However, we are also able to accept photos sent by e-mail or original photographs sent to us by post for scanning. Further details regarding sizes are given on the Photos page.
Availability Calendar
We offer a simple to use availability calendar on all advertisements (on multiple unit advertisements, each unit will have its own calendar). You can access and update your calendar at any time, to show free/booked dates. We recommend that you make full use of the availability calendar and keep it up to date, as this can save time and avoid frustration for both you and visitors to the site. Our web site also offers an availability search facility to holidaymakers, data for which is taken from the calendars.
To update your availability calendar we recommend that you turn the whole of your calendar blue (available) and then fill in your booked dates afterwards. To fill in your calendar, click on the start date and end date and then choose from "booked", "available" or "unknown" on the pop-up box. Remember to save your updates using the "save" button. Updates to your calendar are stored on our database and can be viewed immediately on the Internet.
