Stonebuilt two-storey village house renovated w. traditional methods not using cement but natural products, very suitable for children. It's a very tastefully designed house, all furniture are old and restored, nothing is new. Lots of candles and niches. You can sunbathe totally private (naked if you like) on the sunbeds on the terrace, take an outside shower, lounge on the second terrace, sleep on the roof terrace, all with stairs- or just wine and dine and bbq on the beautiful courtyard with stone pebbled floor (chochlakia, hand made one by one). A bit further the melekounia (honey and sesame cookies) are handmade in a bakery. The village of Koskinou is a traditional one, with lovely friendly but initially distant greek people. For the rest there are artists from Athens and some foreigners, and a nice amount of children although not directly neighbouring. The village has 2 of the best greek restaurants. With all the grocery shops, bakery, playland. Around it are Waterpark, Spa resort

Outside
Ground floor patio: with dining table and big mandarin tree that gives shade to the whole courtyard. with b.b.q. and outside shower.
2nd level, a double hanging bed under a pergola for lovely lazy dozing off, total privacy, for naked sunbathing if wished.
3rd level, balcony leading to the bedroom upstairs.
4th level, roof terrace where one can sleep and relax, not suitable for small children. With one single bed and one double bed.
Coast/Beach
There are numerous beaches nearby. One can walk there and take the bus back. There are the beaches of the legendary spa resort Thermen Kalithea, which is recently restored. Tassos beach, with a natural lake inside the sea. There is Waterpark for the children, a huge park with water entertainment.
Golf
There is a golf course at Afandou, 15 minutes driving.
Special interest holidays
Right behind the house are cookery courses for greek cooking. We can have a wedding arranged, and there are painting lessons, greek lessons anything wanted can be asked, and I will find out.
Travel
The airport is about 20 minutes driving, we rent out cars as well against highly competitive rates. there is a bus station nearby with very frequent driving hours.
Distances
The city of Rhodes is a 10 minutes drive by car, there is the World UNESCO Old Town of Rhodes, Lindos Town is a 40 minutes drive.
Further details
There is a bakery in the village, numerous supermarkets/grocery store, snack bar, souvlaki houses, no banks but there is a ATM machine just on the side of the village.

the bookings can be made directly through my personal website, where you can see all the available dates. you can choose for airconditioning in both bedrooms for an additional 10 euros per day, and additional cleaning of the house for 80 euros per time. We require a 30% payment in advance with booking. The balance of 70% is required one month in advance. In case of late booking (within 45 days before arrival), the whole amount is required.

About the owner
Hi I'm Gudrun Wilsterman. I was raised in Holland where I studied Law and Economics at university. I discovered working in this field wasn't what I wanted so I started my own company, started traveling, came to Greece and met my future husband, got married, had a daughter (now 6 years), last year we adopted a boy of 7, and we are a very happy family. I feel very much at home in Greece, wouldn't want to leave here in a million years. My husband was renovating old ruins, and building new houses in the old style. I also found love for this, and I decided to develop some things here and now I am renting out some of the houses that we want to keep. My husband still sells his houses, but I really take pride in what I do and my main target is for people to enjoy their holiday in my houses.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
I just sold my house in Amsterdam, and wanted some old ruins here in Koskinou where I also live. My main reason was that I really enjoy being with my family (mother, brothers, aunts and uncles) and friends, so I thought it would be great if I would have a house for them to stay in. And then came the idea of renting it. When I started I didn't think much of it, and suddenly it was rented out all season, unbelievable. The house is stone built, and I renovated it with total respect of the past knowledge, with new hidden comforts. I used the best materials and went to big efforts of making this house into a dream house and think hearing from the reviews, (which you can see on the site, and which are verified customers by the external rental/payment system that I use). Enjoy this house!!!!
Unique benefits of the property
The house has a total serene atmosphere, is totally private surrounded by walls, with no neighbours on both sides, plus being the last house in a dead end street, makes this a calm pleasure dome. the mandarin tree in the courtyard gives all the shade, and the floors are covered with mosaic pebbles. Stepping into the iron gates of this doors still can make you believe that you have gone back a 100 years. all modernities are hidden and I have only used natural materials, if in any case I had to use plastic (for example at the electricity box), I made the effort to cover it up with a wooden closet, so one can't see anything of it. this makes the property so special, I believe, that I left nothing to coincidence and didn't take anything for granted.
