The villa lies at the edge of the village. The property is not too big, but everything is available in the house, as it was your own house. We spared no costs for the looks and all the furniture is made of wood, in traditional Greek design. No foreign or new furniture. Lots of art in and outside of the house. Villa Meltemi (sleeps 4/6) is set in the traditional farming area of Lahania Village, made famous by the film of 'Season of Forty' (with Jacqueline Bisset and Irene Papa). Each double bed has overhead mosquito nets. There are magnificent views all around the house, at the back mountain views, at the one side hilly views, at the other side sea view, at the front side valley view and one overlooks the beautiful village. One can see the the sun coming up, on the other side going down behind the mountains. The only thing to do is relax.

Notes on prices
The price is the basic price for 2 people. Above this amount of people, a surcharge of 70 euros per person per week is added. airco is 10 euros per night. There is a one time final cleaning fee of 80 euros.We have a booking system on our own personal website, with which one can book and pay directly through credit card to be sure of the booking and to be able to book the ticket directly.

Notes on accommodation
We rent cheap cars and make sure that the car waits for you at the airport and you can drop it off again at the same spot. Accessibility
The house is not suitable for wheelchair users.
Outside
There is a large dining space just outside the kitchen which is like an extension of the kitchen, it is covered with a pergola. Going to the pool there is a permanent covered area like a summer house. There are sun beds and there is another sitting/dining area where one can sit long evenings. The pool is private. All the furniture is made of wood and has pillows and mattresses. There is a barbecue and there is an outside space where one can cook with a sink and a cooker, just outside the kitchen at the dining area. Upstairs outside of the bedroom there is a large balcony with big built couches with mattresses and pillows and one can overlook all the village and sea from there. This balcony is also covered with a pergola.
Coast/Beach
There are several beaches around, beaches with umbrellas and restaurants, water sport busy beaches, sandy beaches and pebble beaches, very quiet beaches where one can sunbathe nude without any problem. There are the beaches of surfers paradise Prasonisi at a 15 minutes drive, amongst the best surfers places of the world, with a surfer school. There are the beaches of Lindos at about 20 minutes drive. Lots of beaches, the first ones at a 5 minutes drive.
Golf
A golf course is about 40 km away.
Special interest holidays
There are different artistic courses, just ask owner.
Travel
Diagoras airport 70km away, about an hours drive. Rhodes Town is an hour away. Lindos Acropolis is about 20 minutes away. Prasonisi Surfers Paradise is 15 minutes away. Water sports centers 10 minutes away.
Car hire is recommended. There is a bus station but not very frequent service. Motor bike is also suitable.
Distances
The village Lahania is right on the site with 2 restaurants and 1 cafe. There is one small supermarket with all the necessary things one wants, even biologic products one can find here. In the village there is an old olive press museum which acts like a cultural centre.

About the owner
Hi I'm Gudrun Wilsterman. I was raised in Holland where I studied Law and Economics at university. I discovered working in this field wasn't what I wanted so I started my own company, started traveling, came to Greece and met my future husband, got married, had a daughter (now 6 years), last year we adopted a boy of 7, and we are a very happy family. I feel very much at home in Greece, wouldn't want to leave here in a million years. My husband was renovating old ruins, and building new houses in the old style. I also found love for this, and I decided to develop some things here and now I am renting out some of the houses that we want to keep. My husband still sells his houses, but I really take pride in what I do and my main target is for people to enjoy their holiday in my houses.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
My husband made this property to sell it, along with some more houses. We sold the other houses (except for one) and we wanted to keep this one, so that we have something to live in in the south of Rhodes, where the husband of my father comes from. My husband lived in lachania for 15 years, and together we lived there another 4/5 years. So we really love this area and part of Rhodes. Especially this traditional village of lachania where still no tourist hustle is invented. One can hear the sheep here, some roasters and one can really enjoy the rural life here. We love taking long walks and drives in the nature and discover new sand paths that lead to hidden treasure and the beaches in the south are great, long stretches of deserted beaches, where one can even skinny dip and sunbathe.
Unique benefits of the property
We love that there is a swimming pool from which you can jump immediately after coming out of your bed. The nature is beautiful and we have a special bond with this area and especially this village.
