Renaissance is a lovely private home, located at the east part of Fira, in the charming and unspoiled village of Kontohori. Fira, the cultural and commercial centre of Santorini with museums, galleries and cultural events, has the island’s largest shopping centre and the biggest choice of dining and entertainment. The two-bedroom house is only a 3 minute walk from Fira and the caldera but seems miles away from the tourist hustle and bustle. Located on a winding path amidst a labyrinth of white houses, churches and ruins, this typical Cycladian villa has been lovingly restored to retain its local character. The living room boasts a 20 foot cathedral ceiling and the barrel vaulted bedroom upstairs is flooded with light from the en suite balcony. Amenities and features All rooms are tastefully decorated with style in colourful tones. The house feature hairdryer, iron, ironing board, one full equipped kitchen, one private courtyard and one private terrace upstairs with see view.

Santorini and the other islands have experienced virtually no changes from these events, all businesses and services are functioning normally and thousands of people are enjoying the wonderful Greek holiday experience. Cellular phone for the use of our guest with prepaid card of 5 euro upon arrival. Parking near house, walking distance. We offer personalised assistance to all our guests for private tours, excursions and VIP services. We offer transfer service (on request). One-way Airport/Port Villa Transfer at 20 Euros for 2 persons (extra person, 5 euro), 6 persons and more, 6 euro per person. Discount for early booking and Honeymoon packages.

Accessibility
Suitable for people with mobility problems. Unlike many properties in Santorini there are no steps to get to the villa. There are,however, steps to the upper floor.

Outside
The private courtyard, through which one enters the house, can also be accessed from the upstairs terrace. Furniture includes one table with sofa, chairs and pergola. The upstairs terrace leading to the master bedrooms affords one large sofa with views of the village and the sea to the east of the island.

Share swimming pool
Walking distance from the House, our guests have the privilege to use a share and large swimming pool (1 minutes walk form the house) with sea view. Sun bed chairs and shower are available for a cost of 5 euro per adult, per day. You may bring your own towels.

Coast/Beach
Nearest beach, Exo Gialos only 2 km, quiet, nice and private. There are a few rare black sand beaches on Santorini; the most popular one is Red Beach, located in Akrotiri, 12 Km from our Villa, Perivolos is also a must, with its sandy sea bottom and stretch of black sand.

Travel
Nearest Port 7km, nearest airport 6km. For exploring Santorini, we recommend that you rent a car.

Distances
Banks, bars, dance clubs, fashion stores, souvenirs, handmade jewellery shops and more are located in Fira, a 10 minute walk from the villa.

Walking distance from the villa, you will enjoy the Folklore Museum, founded by Manolis Lignos (in Kontohori of Fira), you will see a cave with the layers of lava deposits from the volcanic eruptions, as well as an authentic “kanava”.

Further details
Fira is the busiest point of the island. Hanging from the highest cliffs of the Caldera, it attracts thousands of tourists and, as a result, Fira is the most densely built part of Santorini. It would be better to visit Fira in the morning, when it is not that crowded. Have a glance at the Theotokopoulos Square, the meeting point overflowing with cafés and thousands of visitors! Gold Street with the jeweler stores and the commercial centre Fabrika are poles of attraction, but you should also go ahead to Budi to enjoy the view of the Caldera. The view is fantastic, as well as the happenings taking place at that spot. Now it is time for the Archaeological Museum of Thira, which includes collections of sculptures and inscriptions from the Archaic to the Roman Period, but also vessels from the Geometric until the Hellenistic Era. Visiting the incredible Museum of Pre-historic Thira you will get into the spirit of the civilization developed at Akrotiri and admire the indelible colors of murals which remained intact under the lava. The Bellonias Foundation is the cultural centre of the island, standing out with its colors, yellow ochre and cypress green, whereas the Gyzis Mansion has copper engravings from the 16th-19th century depicting local daily life scenes. The Santorini Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral is situated in a unique position in the Caldera and has wonderful religious paintings created by the Santorinian painter Christoforos Asimis when the church was rebuilt, following the earthquake of 1956. The Catholic Cathedral will impress you with its architecture and steeple. The Catholic women’s monastery, with twelve nuns constitutes a remarkable monument. Near our home is the start of a popular hiking path that leads to Oia, one of the most beautiful village of Santorini. It takes around 3 hours and offer fantastic views of the Caldera. Also a shorter alternative (15-20 minutes) is the part that takes you from Imerovigli into Firostefani and finally Fira town.

Booking notes
For any booking at Rennaissance, we kindly ask you to contact us by email. In order to secure a booking we need to receive a deposit of 30%, remaining balance is due upon check in, cash only. Any cancellation less than 21 days prior to the arrival date results in 50% payment of the entire booking. Cancellation within 7 days prior to the arrival, non appearance or less-stay, may result in 100% payment of the entire booking. The deposit is not refundable but can be re-use within one year.
