These luxury apartments are situated in the beautiful resort of Tigaki on the north coast of Kos Island which is only 12 km from bustling Kos Town with its harbour and castle amongst other archaeological wonders. Each apartment is on the first floor, above the Sagittarius restaurant and offers breathtaking views over the whole resort, out to sea and to neighbouring islands. Each apartment is fully furnished with a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with bathtub, satellite TV and air-conditioning. Guests also have free access to the swimming pool/pool bar of all neighbouring apartments and hotel complexes. Five minutes from the Sagittarius Apartments there is a good selection of bars, restaurants, small dancing bars and tourist shops. There are cash machines and exchange bureaux nearby.

Outside
A lovely olive grove with intermittent fruit trees is situated to the rear of the property. The nearest free swimming pool is at either of the neighbouring apartments complexes only 2 minutes away.

Coast/Beach
Tigaki beach is only a 10 minute walk away. It is the best beach on Kos Island with fine sand which very gently shelves into the sea coming only up to waist height for some distance making it ideal for families with young children. Sunbeds and parasols are reasonably priced and widely available.
Water skiing, wind surfing and other water sports facilities are available at the beach (700m away).

Special interest holidays
With the Alykes Salt lake nearby this provides an ideal opportunity for nature lovers and bird watchers in particular.

Travel
Kos Hippocrates International Airport is 14 km from Tigaki which takes only about 15 mins by taxi or 20' by bus. Cars may be rented at the airport and also in resort. There is a regular bus service from Tingaki to Kos Town and taxis are available and reasonably priced. For direct flights from the UK try Jet2.com from Manchester, Ryanair fly from Liverpool & EasyJet fly direct from Gatwick from 30th March. Taxis can be pre-booked via the owner for transfers from and to the airport.

Distances
Sagittarius Apartments are 700m from Tigaki beach, 12 km from Kos Town, 14 km from Kos airport and 30 km from the furthest village of Kefalos.

Further details
Tigaki is an ideal resort for families with young children, couples who want a fairly quiet holiday or people in the older age bracket who want some peace and quiet. Even if quiet, there is still plenty to do and Kos Town's busy atmosphere is only a short distance away. Taxis and buses are regular and reasonably priced. Car hire is widely available and, being that the area is very flat, bicycle hire is highly recommended. Excursions including island hops and scuba diving are available locally and cash machines and internet access are also close by. The nearest supermarket is 100m from the accommodation and all nearby swimming pools have free entry. Kos has an abundance of archeaological sites for history enthusiasts and for any keen naturalists there is plenty of bird life at the nearby salt lake (Alikes) including rare species of eagle and many flamingoes. Close to Tigaki there is a go-cart track and nearby at the Alikes salt lake there is horseriding available. Finally not forgetting children of all ages there is a Water/Leisure Park on the island close to Mastichari (about 10km from Tigaki).

Donna, Manos and the family

About the owner
My name is Donna Hatzizacharia. I was born and grew up in Norwich, England but have been living in Kos since 1991. Here, I met my husband, Manos, and together we have been running the Sagittarius Restaurant since then and the apartments since 2006. We have three children aged 19, 14 and 13.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Tigaki is the village where my husband Manos grew up and the land the restaurant and apartments are built on is family owned since soon after World War II. He began building the foundations for phase one of the restaurant in 1987 and opened as Sagittarius Snack Bar on June 24th 1989, before we had even met. From 1991 onwards, we worked together and were able to build phase 2 of Sagittarius beginning in November 1994 and completing in April 1996. The final chapter, phase 3, began in November 2005 and our 5 luxury apartments were completed in April 2006. Manos is a man of many talents and as well as cooking great pizzas, telling many great jokes and serving fine food and drinks, he also is a master at laying tiles, and so he tiled all the apartments inside and out!

Unique benefits of the property
We enjoy our location as it's close enough to the beautiful beach Tigaki offers but far enough from the loud disco music of the handful of bars closer to the centre of the village. Sagittarius is only 3 minutes walk away from a large supermarket which sells all kinds of gifts and clothes as well as groceries. Being set back from the centre of the village allows us to enjoy a beautiful sea view from each balcony. Tigaki village is also a prime location on Kos island as it's only 12km from Kos Town and only takes 10-15 minutes by taxi from the airport to the resort. For a personal touch, I always make sure a small welcome pack of basic essentials is in the apartment. This can be a godsend if arriving at 4am, hungry, thirsty, tired and all the shops and restaurants have closed.
