Luxury 3 bedroom Villa in Livathos region with fabulous views to the front across the sea to the Island of Zakynthos, along with the dramatic Mount Aenos as its backdrop. Located on the outskirts of the charming village of Karavados, the Villa is very modern, fully air-conditioned with a private pool. Within a few minutes drive lies a superb selection of exquisite sandy beaches and traditional Greek Tavernas. The ground floor provides spacious open plan living accommodation with comfortable lounge, dining area and fully equipped modern kitchen. The first floor comprises the master bedroom, double bed, sea views, ensuite with a bath/shower, feature porthole window. A second first floor bathroom features a shower enclosure. All 3 bedrooms have their own balcony and bedrooms two and three have twin beds.

Notes on accommodation
Villa Marbirini is fully licensed as holiday accomodation by E.O.T. (Ellinikos Organismos Tourismou - Greek National Tourism Organisation) in accordance with Greek law.
Please note there is limited channel availability in Greece via Sky TV.
Please note that smoking is not permitted inside the Villa for health and safety reasons.
A high chair and travel cot can be made available on request.

Accessibility
Unfortunately the Villa has not been adapted to accommodate wheelchair access.

Outside
The private swimming pool measures 8m x 4m and is 1.2m deep at the shallow end and 1.7m at the deep end. The pool and sun area to the rear of the property is finished in Albanian stone, as is the driveway, where there is ample parking for at least two vehicles. Six sunbeds and two poolside tables are available together with two large parasols, garden table and 6 chairs. External lighting is also provided in the garden. A traditional Greek barbeque is also fitted outside. There is a lawned area to the front and side of the Villa, which is walled and gated.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is St. Thomas, 2 km away. Within 10-15 minutes drive there is a superb selection of sandy beaches all with clear turquoise seas. Each of our family has a different favourite! Myrtos beach in the north of the island is one of the most photographed beaches in the world. There are watersports facilities at nearby Lourdas beach. Makris Gialos, 10-15 minutes drive away, has a full range of watersports facilities such as waterski-ing, windsurfing, parasailing, scuba diving, etc.

Travel
Car hire recommended. Kefalonia airport is 15-20 minutes drive (10km). Nearest port - Pessada (4km) for ferries to Zante. Direct flights: EasyJet from Gatwick-Tues/Sat/Sun. Charter flights: Birmingham-Tue/Thur/Sun, Bristol–Thurs, Cardiff & Luton–Tues, London Gatwick-Tues/Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun, Manchester–Tues/Thur/Sun, London Stansted & Newcastle–Sun betwenn Apr & Oct. Distances
Villa Marbirini is on the outskirts of Karavados and mini-markets and a Taverna are within a short walking distance. The nearest town is Peratata, 3km away. Argostoli, the island's capital, is only 15-20 minutes drive and has a full range of shops, bars and tavernas.
We can provide you with a number of websites to check for flight availability and prices, as well as car hire, if required. Between November and April you can fly to Kefalonia from the UK via Athens.

Further details
There are many exquisite sandy beaches and traditional Greek Tavernas within a few minutes drive of the villa, which is a great base to explore the island's many attractions, such as the nearby St Georges (Agios Georgios) Castle, located 2-3 km from the villa, the views from the top over the South West of the island and Argostoli bay are simply stunning. Seeing the castle lit up at night from the road is also a spectacle to behold. Drogarati Caves, situated about 5km south of Sami (picturesque harbour town on the East coast, perfect for lunch, dining right at the harbour’s edge) are stalagmatic caves thought to be 150 million years old. The acoustics inside are so good it hosts concerts, where there is room for an audience of 500 people. Melissani Lake, again situated just outside Sami, is an underground cave with a lake where you can be punted around in a rowing boat. When the sun is overhead around midday it hits the turquoise-blue waters, creating a magical illusion and suddenly filling the cave with blue light. Assos is a tiny village built on a small peninsula, dominated by the ruins of a 16th century Venetian castle. It is situated on the North-West coast, not too far from Myrtos beach, one of the most photographed beaches in the world. Fiskardo is a picturesque fishing village situated right at the far North of the island and is one of the few villages not to be destroyed in the earthquake of 1953 (ferries/boat trips to Ithaca/Lefkada sail from here). Sami and Agia Efimia are both picturesque port/fishing villages on the East coast. St Gerassimos Monastery is at the heart of the island and the interior of the church is decorated with breathtaking murals. Saint Gerasimos is the patron Saint of the island and his remains are kept in a small chapel in a silver and glass sarcophagus. The ferry to Zakynthos sails from Pessada, a port situated only a few km from the Villa. Ferries from Argostoli sail to Lixouri for exploring the island’s western peninsula.

Booking notes
A non-returnable deposit of £200 for each week is required to secure a booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before arrival. A refundable security deposit of £200 is also payable with the balance, which is refundable within 2 weeks of dearture.
A basic welcome hamper is also included in weekly rate, which can be upgraded at additional cost to suit Guests' requirements.
