The seaside resort of Stoupa has a year round mild climate and is located 1 hours drive south-east of Kalamata. Stoupa caters for the quieter family market. The apartment is set in a quiet no through residential road 250m from the beach. The owners house and apartment are newly completed in 2008. They have views of the surrounding mountains and olive groves and are set in a tranquil location. The apartment faces west and has one bedroom with air-conditioning and French doors to the terrace, shower room and a kitchen/living area with french doors leading onto the private terrace.

Changeover day
Changeover days and times are flexible. We would appreciate it if guests can give us an idea of arrival time in order to ensure that they can be shown into the apartment.
| Bedrooms: | The bedroom has a double bed with bedside cabinets, a dressing table and large fitted wardrobes. French doors lead onto a private paved terrace. |
| Bathrooms: | The fully tiled shower room is adjacent to the bedroom with a shower, toilet and hand basin, plus fan heater. It benefits from English type plumbing. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is well equipped with built in top and base units housing a sink. It has a full size cooker with 4 rings, oven and grill, a fridge with freezer compartment, microwave oven, kettle and cutlery plus crockery for four. |
| Utility Room: | There is use of a washing machine upon request. |
| Living Rooms: | The open-plan living area has a double sofa bed, dining table plus four chairs. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Sheets and towels are changed twice a week and the apartment is cleaned twice weekly. Guests are asked to dispose of their own rubbish in the bins which can be found around the village. |
Notes on accommodation
Our apartment has air-conditioning/heating units in the bedroom. The windows are all double glazed with fly screens. There is communal use of the washing machine and the apartment has its own iron and ironing board. The water supply is plentiful and safe as it comes directly from the mountain springs. Solar panels heat the water with an electric immersion back-up. No smoking inside the apartment please and no pets.
Outside
The apartment and owners accommodation are set within their own private gated area of 500sq.m. The apartment has its own private terrace and garden seating area with garden table and chairs plus parasol. Guests can take advantage of a portable BBQ on request. The owners live on site for part of the year to help you with questions, at other times any enquiries will be dealt with by an English speaking friend in the village.
Coast/Beach
The apartment is situated in the village of Stoupa and is a 5 minute walk to the sandy beaches of Stoupa and Kalogria where you can swim most of the year. The beaches are suitable for children as the sand slopes gently into the water at Kalogria and there is a sheltered cove at the end of Stoupa beach. The only water sports are pedalos, canoes and small boats which can be hired to explore the rugged coastline.
Travel
The nearest airport is Kalamata which is an hours drive away (open May to October). Alternately there are daily flights into Athens all year round (4.5 hours drive). Stoupa is very well equipped for day to day needs but if you wish to sight-see then a car can be hired locally or there are organised coach trips around the area. Ferries come into Patras from Italy approx. 5 hires drive away.

Further details
The picturesque village of Stoupa with its fishing harbour is ideal for those wanting a quiet well catered for break as it has many tavernas (some open all year), supermarkets, chemist, bakeries, ice cream parlours and tourist shops. There is no bank in the village but there are 'holes in the walls' and money can be changed in the local travel agencies. There are two doctors surgeries in Stoupa and the health center is only 4 km away in the neighbouring fishing village of Ag. Nikolos.
Booking notes
Please check availability of the accommodation with the owners either by email or on the telephone. Bookings will be confirmed upon payment of a 50 euro/week non-refundable deposit into either a Greek or English bank account. The balance is due 6 weeks before arrival date by transfer into our bank account. There is a 50 euro cleaning deposit payable on arrival which will be repaid if the apartment is left clean and tidy.
