Ladies and gentlemen and our younger friends, allow us to welcome you in Greece!! Our family villa "Iliou Melathron" which means "The Sun's Palace" consists of ground floor, first floor and second floor and is located at the highest point of a small village named "Riza", offering unspoiled views of surroundings full of orange, lemon and olive trees. Built in 2005, offers the ultimate experience in luxury and comfort for the most demanding occupants. Exactly 7 km from the seaside of Xylokastro, the main town which provides and meets every need that may arise, from banks, medical care, supermarkets, bars, either sedated or fully organised beaches and surely restaurants, just in case you don't choose for dining one of the traditional tavernas reachable with a delightful 5 minute walk into the main village area.

Utility Room: Washing machine, dryer, iron, ironing board and vacuum cleaner.
Living Rooms: Living/dining room open plan with sitting capacity of 12, comfortable lounge for relaxing moments (with fireplace for winter period), LCD TV satellite, radio-CD player with audio system for both indoors and outdoors, internet access and laptop provided.

Notes on accommodation
There is insect mesh on each window of the building, even in the bathrooms and also on the sliding doors of the ground floor. All the rooms and the living/dining room area have telephone line and devices, individual air conditioning and heating. The water supply is plentiful, safe as it comes directly from the mountain springs and heated through boiler 24 hours a day. The whole property is fenced around for privacy and includes a huge private parking.

Unfortunately our property is not suitable for wheelchair users.

Outside
Beautifully formed garden, large paved patio area equipped with wooden outdoor furniture for enjoying a cup of tea or even for an open-air dining, private pool of 60 sq.m. (depth 80cm -1.85m) surrounded with sunbeds and umbrellas, poolbar with stools and separate fridge and poolside shower. Outdoor furniture on every single balcony, too.

Coast/Beach
Secluded bays with crystal clear sea water or organised beach bars with sea beds and umbrellas? The choice is yours and rests 7km away (10 minutes drive) to Xylokastro.

Skiing
The location of our property is an ideal attraction throughout the whole year, because our tiny village is situated 10 minutes from the closest beach (Xylokastro), but also 35 minutes from the closest ski resort (Trikala Korinthias, 1.600m-2.376m). A special characteristic of our area is the intense alternation of scenery and altimeter in very short distances. 'Trikala' is one of the top cosmopolitan destinations the latest years, for winter season in Greece, where someone can choose between beginner's ski slopes with trainer, routes for advanced skiers, games for the children with sleds, even climbing at the highest point of the mountain "Ziria" through marked paths and whatever the choice will be, returning back to the beautifull cafeteria for a hot coffee or a hot chocolate, ends in the best way an extreme day.

Travel
150km from Athens International Airport, 130km from the port of Piraeus and 90km from the port of Patra. The use of car is essential, so in case you are interested in car hiring, please let us know in order to provide you all the necessary information.

7 km from the closest town of Xylokastro (right on the Corinthian Gulf), 40 km from the nearest ski resort (Trikala Korinthias), 40 km from the capital of our county (Korinth), 110km from Epidavros-120km from Delphi-190km from Olympia (all three well known archaeological monuments), 90km from the picturesque city of Naflpion (former capital of Greece).

Further details
As mentioned above there are beautiful traditional tavernas and a mini market very close to our property, in the main area of the village. Xylokastro on the other hand offers different choices of restaurants with Mediterranean cuisine, located by the sea. Apart from medical center, supermarkets, commercial shops, banks, ATMs, cafes, there is also vibrant nightlife in Xylokastro. We couldn't fail to mention the magnificent pinetree forest of Pefkias, "The green shore of homeland", as it was described in a great Kostas Kariotakis poem, the source of inspiration of another poet Agelos Sikelianos, an absolute oasis on the east side of Xylokastro, with 83 different species of plants and trees and marvelous little paths leading straight to the beach.

Booking notes
Deposit 30% of the total cost of stay is required at the time of booking, which is refunded only if cancellation is made 8 weeks prior to arrival. Payment is made in euro or sterling by transfer into a bank account. The remaining balance is paid 4 weeks prior to arrival. A refundable deposit of 250 euros is also required at the time of arrival, which will be held only in case of breakages or damage. Thank you in advance.

About the owner
Hello! I am 30 years old, I was born and grew up in Athens, the capital of Greece and since year 2000, I live in Xylokastro, Corinth, in our family house with my husband and my parents. I got married in 2008 and on the 14th of July 2010 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. My husband and I run another business in the same territory, dealing with car selling and washing. When we were given the chance to leave Athens and move to this tiny village called "Riza", my mother's homeland, exactly 7 km off the main town of Xylokastro, we took the decision without having any second thoughts.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
In April 2000, we left behind the big crowded city, with all the graceless huge buildings, the traffic and the fumes and we ended up in a small hidden paradise, with picturesque little houses, traditional tavervas and coffee shops. Though we are common people, working hard, facing the daily routine and trying to improve our lives, we've managed to weak up more optimistic, positive and we reload our batteries just by facing every single morning a clear blue sky and all those beautiful landscapes filled with olive, orange and lemon trees. So, a few years ago we decided to buy a piece of land and build a cute and comfortable villa, in order to offer other people too, the chance to enjoy every now and then the magic and the serenity that life and holiday in this countryside can offer.
