The cottages are newly renovated and now provide luxury accommodation with four poster beds and Jacuzzi baths - together with other excellent facilities. Perfect for romantic and peaceful hideaway holidays, our cottages are the right choice for couples or can be booked by larger families and groups who prefer to enjoy the space of both cottages together. There is a shared swimming pool for the two cottages and enclosed gardens with trees and flowers. South facing to the stunning White Mountains, the cottages enjoy the Crete sunshine from morning til afternoon whilst the stone interiors of the cottages remain cool and refreshing. A 5 minute walk to the village centre of Listarda or 3 minute drive to the village of Vamos which has a range of tavernas, village shops, butcher, bakery and pharmacy. Litsarda is 10 minutes drive from a choice of beaches at Georgioupolis, Kalyves or Almyrida with plenty of local sites within easy driving distance.

Mandarin Cottage

Mandarin Cottage is on 2 levels. The ground floor has a neatly fitted kitchen with full cooker and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, coffee filter and toaster plus many other utensils for easy living. Passing through the dining area you enter into the cosy living room with fireplace, comfortable sofas and mod cons such as flat screen Satelllite TV, DVD/CD. The spacious master bedroom is located upstairs and is a delight with air-conditioning, en-suite jacuzzi bath and bathroom. There is a large balcony with direct views over the mountains, perfect spot for total relaxation. As with Lavender cottage, all the rooms are large and airy with tasteful furnishings throughout. |

Notes on accommodation
Both cottages have air-conditioning in the bedrooms.
We provide all bed linen, hand, bath and pool towels.
The cottages are cleaned and prepared ready for your arrival and then we will provide extra sheets and towels for you to change once per week of your stay.
Outside
The communal swimming pool is one depth of 1.20m and is found in the enclosed gardens in front of the 2 cottages. The courtyard is very pretty with flowers and trees. The area around the pool is shared and benefits from outdoor furniture, umbrellas and sunbeds. Each cottage has an individual BBQ.
Coast/Beach
A choice of beaches at Georgoupolis, Kalyves or Almyrida can be found within 10 minutes drive. All beaches are sand and each of the beaches also has a little fishing harbour. The are a variety of facilities at the beaches, with restaurants and coffee shops.
Golf
There is a golf course located in Hersonissos closer to Heraklion airport.
Travel
Chania Airport - 45 minutes driving distance.
Heraklion Airport - 90 minutes driving distance.
Heraklion Port - 90 minutes
Rethymnon Port - 30 minutes
Car Hire is essential.
Distances
Litsarda Village is an easy 5 minute stroll - there is a local pizzeria, a cafenion (very traditional, local greek coffee shop) and the local Greek Orthodox Church.
Vamos village is a larger traditional village, 3 minutes drive or can be walked in about 25 minutes if feeling energetic. There are more tavernas and facilities in this village.
Rethymnon and Chania town centres are approx 20 - 25 minutes drive and here you can find pretty cobbled venetian streets with more commercial shops.
Further details
Many people who choose to stay at our cottages enjoy painting, walking, bird watching and exploring the countryside. Most of our guests just require somewhere to totally relax and get away from stress of work. Some interesting days out include Samaria Gorge for keen walkers and Elafonisi beach in south west Crete for beach lovers. We have booklets at each house that give further information on places to see and visit.
Booking notes
A 30% deposit is required at the time of booking with the balance payment made 8 weeks before arrival. Any booking taken within the 8 weeks will be required to pay the full amount at time of booking. Payments can be made by credit card (subject to a 2% additional bank commission charge), or bank transfers in UK sterling or euros.

We felt extremely privileged to be the first occupants of Mandarin Cottage. You have created a truly wonderful, relaxing retreat. We loved all the attention to detail and the manner in which you have created a mini Venetian Mansion in which a couple can enjoy modern luxuries within a period property. We adored our spacious airy bedroom looking out over mountain vies from the four poster bed. It is proving difficult to leave “our” Mandarin Cottage home. We hope to return in later Winter – early Spring to experience another facet of this rural idyll. Thank you – John and Victoria.
