This coast offers many lovely sandy beaches, the nearest one down in the bay, less than 10 minutes walk away. St Paul's Bay, just along the coast, is a popular venue for weddings, and The Beachcombers offer ideal accommodation for Honeymooners and Guests. They offer traditional country style with tiled roofs and pine ceilings, combined with luxury furnishings and well equipped kitchens. The view is something extra special, with the dramatic cliffs to the right, and the sea spread like turquoise satin in front. If you adore the scent and colour of a well kept garden...if you like cooking with fresh herbs...if you can see yourself relaxing in the jacuzzi as the sun climbs across a clear blue sky...this is for you.

Changeover day
We try to be flexible about changeover day. We ask departing guests to vacate by 12 noon. Arriving guests will be able to move in after 3 pm. Please let us know if your flight times are unusually early/late, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Driftwood has 2 bedrooms, a double to the front (sea view)and a twin to the back (mountain view). Each bedroom has a balcony with table and 2 chairs. The bathroom has a white suite, with bath and shower attachment. The lounge is very spacious, with 2 large picture windows with lovely sea views. The suite is white leather, and there is also a sofabed for extra guests (if required). Satellite TV and a music system, each with remote control. The kitchen has a dining area with table for 6, cooker (ceramic hob), dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, washing machine, vacuum cleaner, iron/ironing board, toaster and electric kettle, cutlery and crockery. R/C Air con throughout. Outdoors, there is a good sized patio with table for outdoor dining, sun loungers and a large parasol. The patio overlooks the large tiled pool with whirlpool spa at one end. The suite is ivory leather, and there is a double sofabed for extra guests (if required). There is satellite TV and a stereo unit, each with r/c. The kitchen has a dining area with table for 6, cooker (ceramic hob), dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, washing machine, vacuum cleaner, iron/ironing board, toaster and electric kettle, cutlery and crockery. Air con throughout. Outdoors, there is a good sized patio with table and benches for outdoor dining, sun loungers and a large parasol. Notes on accommodation
Each villa is equipped with remote controlled air conditioning, plus an energy saving solar panel which will provide up to 200 litres of hot water per hour. The Lindos area is normally one of the hottest on the island in summer, with temperatures often in the high 30s. The air conditioning units also have a heating function, should you require it. Guests will always be comfortable indoors, whatever the weather outside.
Accessibility
We regret that the villas are not suitable for wheelchair users. There are a few steps inside the properties, and several steps down to the pools and gardens. Those with limited mobility should be able to move around indoors comfortably, providing they can manage a couple of steps.
Outside
The villas stand on a generous private plot, fenced and accessed via an electric remote controlled gate for vehicles and a lockable pedestrian gate, offering an extra degree of security. There is hard standing inside the gate for 4 vehicles, and a paved driveway behind each house providing ample parking space. Each villa has a large garden which provides plenty of grassed space for children to play. The extra large grounds of Sandpiper are particulary spacious. The pools are 1.40 metres deep at their deepest point. They are in a figure 8 shape, 10 metres long, 6 metres wide (not including spa). The Spas are big enough for 6 to sit comfortably. There is an outdoor shower close to each pool. All pools benefit from modern filtration/chlorination sytems to ensure high standards of hygiene. The gardens, pools and spas are illuminated to make an enchanting picture after dark. Besides exotic palms and flowers, chefs and cooks will find edible herbs to give their food authentic Greek flavour.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is down in Navarone Bay, less than 10 minutes walk. It is a very pretty sandy beach, not overcrowded. Lindos, about 2 minutes away by car, has 3 sandy beaches, including the very beautiful St Paul's Bay. Pefkos, 2 minutes drive to the south, has several small beaches and one very long one. It is a very popular family resort. Watersports are available at Pefkos and Lindos. There are many lovely beaches to be found along this coast - we hope you will enjoy discovering them!
Golf
There is a Golf course about 30 minutes drive away, near the village of Afandou.
Special interest holidays
The Beachcombers are ideally located for those celebrating weddings at St Pauls Bay. Large groups of guests can rent more than one villa, providing accommodation for up to 24. Early booking recommended.
Travel
Rhodes is served by Diagoras, a large, modern airport, with Charter flights in summer from most European countries. There are also several scheduled flights per day connecting Rhodes with Athens and other islands. There is a busy port, with ferry services to the mainland and passenger services to the nearby islands of Symi and Kos, and Marmaris in Turkey. There are plenty of taxis at the airport, in Lindos and in Rhodes town. The nearest local bus stop is 5 minutes walk from the properties.
Distances
The Beachcombers are about 45 minutes drive from the airport. We can arrange car hire airport to airport at a reasonable cost if required - please ask!
Lindos and Pefkos are only 2 minutes drive away, the historic Old Town of Rhodes about an hours drive away. The port is located in the town. The Valley of Butterflies is about an hours drive, Seven Springs about 40 minutes drive.
Further details
There are plenty of shops, small supermarkets and banks in Lindos and Pefkos. Greeks love their food, and you will find delicious traditional dishes in most villages. There is also a large choice of different cuisines, and every style from formal dining to take away. Many of the beaches offer water sports. There is a large Water Park near Faliraki, also a small fairground for children. Pefkos has Mini Golf and Go-Karting. Those who enjoy walking will find delightful walks in the mountains, and some stunning views. Those interested in history will find a wealth of ancient architectural sites around the island. Lindos itself is an ancient village, one of the most photographed places in the world. It has a specially romantic atmosphere after dark, when you can sit in lovely courtyard restaurants and enjoy local dishes. The area where The Beachcombers are located was itself designated an area of outstanding natural beauty by UNESCO in the 1990s. The villas are owned by a local man from an old Lindian family, and his English wife. Having lived on the island for over 25 years, they can give the best advice about what to see and do, and where to eat.
