This villa is ideal for families and couples. It has a large living room leading onto two spacious balconies, a kitchen/dining room, 3 double sized air-conditioned bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The villa is equipped with TV, DVD player, Ipod docking station, CD player, a Play Station 2, games, a travel cot and high chair. Outside there is a swimming pool (9.5m x 5m, 1.2m deep) surrounded by a large terrace, equipped with sun beds, deck chairs and umbrellas. Alfresco dining can be enjoyed on the balconies or on the covered terrace downstairs where you can admire great views. There are also areas for parking and ball games. There is an assortment of outdoor games equipment including basketball net and bats and balls.

Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible. Entry time to villa 2pm and departure time 10am. However we could be flexible depending on occupancy of villa. Please contact me in advance to discuss arr/dep times if necessary.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 situated on the ground floor with double bed. Bedroom 2 on the ground floor with twin beds. Bedroom 3 on 1st floor with twin beds. Travel cot available. Bedroom 1 and 2 have double doors opening onto terraces to enjoy the beautiful sea views. |
| Bathrooms: | Ground floor bathroom with wc, bath/shower, sink and washing machine. 1st floor very large shower room with wc and sink. |
| Kitchen: | Fully equipped kitchen including cooker, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, blender. Traditional Greek dining table and chairs which seat 6. Off the kitchen is a large outdoor covered dining area which also seats 6. Here you can enjoy the amazing views. |
| Utility Room: | The washing machine is located in the downstairs bathroom. There is an ironing board, iron, clothes airer with pegs, laundry bin and basket. |
| Living Rooms: | Spacious comfortable living room, with two sofas, TV, DVD player, Play Station 2,CD player and radio, soft lighting, coffee tables and games table and rug. Two sets of double doors open out onto two large balconies to enjoy alfresco dining and relaxation. |
| Other: | Entrance hall is equipped with large mirror and side table. In the living room the sofas open out for additional sleeping space. The house is also equipped with high chair and travel cot. The property is tiled throughout and the walls are of local stone. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Towels and linen are included. The property will receive a full clean prior to guest arrival. For guests staying more than 1 week, towels and linen are changed weekly. If guests require further linen or towel change this can be arranged for a small fee. |
Notes on accommodation
The villa is fully air-conditioned in all the bedrooms. For the cooler months there are fan heaters and free standing radiators. Alfresco dining can be enjoyed on the two upstairs balconies or on the many terrace areas downstairs where you can admire the stunning views. For entertainment there is a TV, DVD player, and Play Station 2, in the living room and also a portable CD/radio player and Ipod docking station. There are reading books, games, guide books and local recommendations for restaurant and places of interest. Games equipment includes a collection of balls, bats, frisbees and shuttlecocks for guests to use. There also playing cards, chess, draughts and Lego amongst others.

Accessibility
The villa is positioned on flat landscape and there are no difficult steps to negotiate outside the property. We have made the grounds secure with gates and fencing. There is a tiled staircase to the first floor. Please contact us if you need further information regarding accessibility.
Outside
The villa stands in half an acre of land. There is a private swimming pool (9.5m x 5m, 1.2m deep) surrounded by a very large terrace, equipped with sun beds, deck chairs and umbrellas. The grounds are extensive, offering plenty of space to play games, explore or hide away. There are different areas to enjoy; gravelled, natural habitat and local fauna, olive and almond trees as well as areas for ball games, including basketball. There are two large upstairs balconies; one is equipped for dining for 6 people and the other for more intimate dining for 2 or relaxation. Off the downstairs twin bedroom guests can enjoy the enclosed terrace overlooking the pool. Off the kitchen is a large outdoor covered dining area which also seats 6. Here you can enjoy the amazing views. Set in a rural location, the views are stunning with the sound of the bells of the local sheep and goats as they roam the neighbouring fields. This is an idyllic and peaceful setting.
Coast/Beach
Almyrida Bay is just a 10 minute (3 mile) drive from the house. The beaches here are very safe for children as they shelve very gently into the sea. Here you can rent kayaks, windsurfs, sailing boats and bicycles. The sea front restaurants and bars liven up during the evening. Kalives is a 15 mins drive away. Larger than Almyrida, it has 3 main stretches of beach. If you prefer a quiet cove there is one just 5 mins drive away, secluded, picturesque and perfect for snorkeling and diving.
Travel
Car hire is essential. The nearest airport is Chania (30 minutes drive). Heraklion airport is approximately 2 hours away. 30 min from the Venetian/Turkish city of Chania. 120 min from Knossos Palace - home of Minoan civilisation.
Distances
Chania town, harbour, shops, cobbled lanes, market, leather stalls, restaurants and excursions is 30 minutes drive.
Plaka for nearest restaurants, mini market, bakery is 5 minutes drive.
Local village of Kokkino Chorio (mini market and taverna) is 4 minute drive.
Almyrida local blue flag sandy beach and town is 10 minutes drive.
Kalives town, beach, restaurants is 15 minutes drive.
Knossos palace is 120 minute drive.
Further details
If you are missing the delights of the city, Chania, regarded as one of the loveliest cities in Greece, is a 30 minutes along the National Highway. There is a great old town where you can wander the narrow lanes until you come to the Venetian built harbour lined with restaurants and bars. Boat trips and horse and carriage rides are available and nearby there is a water park with both gentle and scary rides!
Crete is the most southerly and largest of the Greek islands (180 miles long by 40 miles wide) and so there are many areas to explore including; walking in the Samari Gorge (Europe’s longest gorge at 18km), boating on Lake Kournas, driving through the White Mountains, discovering the many beaches or wandering the historic cities of Chania, Reythimon or Heraklion.
As the home of Europe’s earliest civilisation, Crete has many ancient ruins including Knossos Palace, the ancient home of King Minos and the Minotaur where according to Greek myth Icarus began his ill fated flight.
Crete has 300 days of sunshine every year with temperatures ranging from low 20’s to high 30’s from April to October. Outside this period the temperatures are usually in the mid teens.

To make a booking you can either call or email us via the 'contacts' section. A non-refundable 20% deposit will be necessary to secure your requested dates and needs to be paid within 7 days. The total holiday cost is to be paid in full 6 weeks prior to your departure. Please take out holiday insurance.
Cancellation charges are as follows: from date of booking until 6 weeks before departure = 50% (+ deposit) will be required. Less than 6 weeks = 100% (include deposit) will be required.
